Rough hopup, fixable?

Alright, Been playing around with my WE m14, and its always shot slightly to the left. I eventually got down to just taking it apart to check it out, and from what I can see is that the hopups... bump thing is a bit rough. I won't be able to replace the rubber for a while now, so is there anything I can do to remedy this until I can replace it?

Thanks.

The rubber nub is rough?
What about cutting some of the offending material away, or sanding it down?

Or DIY with a straw.

EDIT : You're talking about the nub/bucking, or the bump inside the rubber?
