What are Electric Mags?

When I was browsing around yesterday I came across one on ASGI

Heres a link:

http://www.airsoftgi.com/product_inf...oducts_id=4107

I was just wondering A) why its so expensive and B) what does it do?

I'm guessing it's an automatic winding mag. I don't get the sound control part though.

Also, please note that if you try to import that magazine from the U.S, it is very probable that it will get seized by the customs since the magazine has fake bullets, if the picture is right...

It's like a high cap with more BBs. Basically almost both chambers are filled with BBs and there's a switch to activate winding for you.

I am not familiar with airsoft.

What my question is, does the element of surprise work on a typical airsoft match?

Its a self winding high capacity magazine that winds when it detects the sound of your mechbox.

I believe it holds somewhere in the area of 800 rounds and is powered by triple A batteries.

When in doubt, look it up.

sound control usually means it's sound activated, it listens to the whir of your gearbox, then it knows your firing so it winds to keep the flow, my m249's box mag does that

more so the thwack of the piston hitting. I have an m4 box mag that has a tiny microphone at the top of the mag portion. it's sensitive enough that it will wind when you blow on it but when inserted into a mag well, typically starts winding after the first shot and not with the gears, but that's just my experience with these things.

now if I could only get the box mag to not jam requiring a complete breakdown to clear it....

Wonder if it can pick up the sound of a n00b shouting as they spray and pray.

yeah, never paid that close attention, explains why it doesn't go off when your talking or something, although I do remember it going off when a dog beside me barked.

I have a sound activated 2500 rd drum s mag...
I take it out on special occasions... but that doesnt make me a noob >.>

Somtimes I just like to hold my C7 like a chainsaw with a 203 and smag slung underneath wearing a Jason Mask.

You cant look badass as a terminator if you have to reload...
