Cool Should I buy it?

I was thinking of purchasing the Kraken Aftermath Kurz AK-47. Can anyone please tell me if it is a good gun. Remember now I am a beginner and I want to purchase a cheap but durable gun.

Cheers,

Not bad but you could do much better. Your best bet would be to spectate a local game, you'll get in touch with the community, gawk at all the guns and get age verified.

It's pretty much only good as a 3D instruction book. It may last 10 rounds it may last 100,000 rounds QC is a bit shoddy and you might get a lemon or a cherry.

That being said the general trend is for "crappy" guns with a few outliers having lasted a long time.

Fixing/repairing/replacing parts will end up biting you in the ass, especially with "piecemealing" parts one by one (it ends up being expensive and some aftermarket companies don't play well with others as well as possible fitment issues that will likely require the use of hobby files, dremel tools, and other such equipment in a "home hobby workshop"). It's much better to get a quality gun right off the bat IMO.

+1

Getting a low end airsoft gun like that is just going to be a money sink if you decide on getting seriously into the game. Get out to a game, rent if need be and check out what others are using and what you think looks sexy. Read reviews and be prepared to invest upwards of a grand (after you see all the sexy gear its hard not to want it) to seriously enter into the realm of airsoft.

Otherwise, I suggest at LEAST getting age verified and checking the classifieds, there are much better guns available for relatively the same prices.

Cheers and good luck

Comon guys... Important word; KURTZ.
It's crap, plastic internals, either opt out for regular kraken, or do the smarter thing and get a better phone.

If you're going to cheap out and get a kraken as your first gun....you should at least get a real kraken. It's not much more and it sucks less.

I just ordered a aftermath lycaon from airgunsource.com for $168 with tax and shipping (Which is good), i'd say the kraken is better, but it was $50 more, not in stock, and im not a AK type of guy.

From what I've been told, I wouldn't consider Aftermath.

I am not familiar with airsoft.

What my question is, does the element of surprise work on a typical airsoft match?

what about the Aftermath Broxa MP5?
If not do you have any other cheap but durable alternatives?
Thanks

try to avoid cheaper guns if you are just starting (i know it sounds crazy) but it may ruin your expierence with airsoft if the firsth thing you buy falls apart cause its a cheap gun. save your dollars and get something a little better in quality. But that is just me of course. Also see what you like, if you know anyone with airsoft guns ask to check them out. Even better go to a game and get AV'd. as for the Broxa MP5, it is ok for a cheap gun. I wouldn't ever recommend it to anyone though.

This is unfortunately, an oxymoron. If cheap guns were durable, there wouldn't be expensive guns.

i just into the game myself and my son last year we got good guns right away (a G&G GR16 and a G&G SCAR) it makes a much better game when you have a gun that wont fall apart right away and to beable to hit someone thats far away unlike some of the cheaper guns.

The broxa is better but something that I would personally still avoid.

It's like trying to choose which piece of crap is the least crappy. Out of Aftermaths lineup the only ones I would seriously consider as "decent" or "OK" guns are the Kraken and Broxa, everything else is pretty much crap.

What would you rather have the Ford Edsel or the Chevy Chevette? The other option of course is AV and getting a beat up (but still usable and running strong) 1987 Toyota Corolla. Or buying new if you have that kind of green.

Ya it's Cyma it's going to be cheap pot metal and have shoddy QC. BTW the Kraken is a Cyma it's has Cyma serial numbers on the moter cage and gears. So if you want to know how it will preform, look at aftermath kraken reviews. Save up and get something badass like a RS type 56 that will last.

I assume you mean this gun(Can't see the link no AV status) http://shop.ehobbyasia.com/cyma-aks-...g-cm-045a.html
