depends on the side arm, for the pistol I carry 1 or 2 mags and the mp7 I have 9 mags (3 50 rd and 6 100 rd)

but it would all depend on how much you use that side arm and why. Are you running out of mags for your primary? if so might be cheaper to get a few more mags for that then spend almost $100 bucks on 2 pistol mags.

It would also depend on the role you are playing

I have 7 mags for my pistol, unless its a pistol only game or my primary goes down the most I have ever used in a game was 2.

Depends where you're playing, and how long until you can reload your mags. Also depends on if you're carrying ammo and gas. Also depends on the style of games you're playing. Also depends on your gaming style, how much you shoot, etc.

I carry no fewer than 4 secondary mags. Glock/Sig are able to cycle through nearly a full load of BB's in 5-10 degree temperatures, and that's more than enough that I'll need (usually shoot through 1 and a half mags), yet nearly enough in the case of my primary crapping out on me. Which happens a lot - *facepalm*. I generally end up being a spotter, coordinating stuff over the radio, or being a "bunker noob" if I have to resort to my secondary only, though - so I guess that means I shoot less. Eh, I'll be honest, I usually just end up camping and being a bunker noob if I end up in that situation, lol.

Since people started talking about primary mags, I carry 13 low caps (68 rounds) for my G3 - generally have 1-3 mags left at the end of a day.

I shoot more during run-and-gun games and shoot less during objective-based sims (Panther). I shoot more when there are more targets in a smaller area (e.g. Bigfoot) and shoot less ... well, you get the point. I'm talking local fields here, though I don't know who you are on local forums, so I'm not sure where you play. If you do, or if you're getting into it, or whatever.

I got only 1 pistol mag for my Hi capa and in 2 years, I never was in a situation that required me to have more then 1 pistol mag.
Note :I have only played in Woodland terrain.

Always 3 (1 gun, 2 in pouches) minimum when I'm running my pistol (I often leave it home for outdoor games or other open fields.)

But I got (well, I'm waiting for the last 3) 7 mags for my 1911. Note that I'm loading them to real cap (7+1) and not the 26 BBs max capacity. Depending on the scenario (ie pistol only games), role I have, location (ie CQB field with lots of small spaces were a carbine could be bulky) I will carry more.

Or just when I feel like enjoying the blowback (at least until I get a GBBR, but it looks like buying a car will be before the GBBR lol).

As many as I can carry. I have one more in the pistol, plus four more strapped to a drop leg panel for a total of 15 mags... you know, just in case.

I see room for 5 more mags lol

I sense the beginning of an ASC competition for being the most innovative in carrying as many accessible mags as possible lol

Trust me, if I had another quad panel lying around, I'd fill up the rest of that admin panel. LOL.

Anyways, I don't actually run with this loadout (not always, anyways.....)
