The sector gear should have the nozzle bar facing the 1:00 position. This should have worked itself out though your wouldn't have been able to get the tappet plate and things working when closed.

I'm not sure what you mean, could your friend mean your gears are not shimmed properly?

CA grease is bad and dries out after a while.It's not elephant sperm.No animal was harmed during the CA grease-making process.

CA gears are good, so if your AEG is chewing them up there has to be either too big a spring or motor turning too fast (big battery with light spring)
