Cylinder compression + Spring question
Hey guys,
Here is some info to assist your answering my question :P Version 4 mechbox Full SystemA Tune up Kit SystemA 160% spring I finally said fuck it and decided to take apart a mechbox. It is still in full working order - i did not break it, I just have a question. When I got to the cylinder I tried covering the nozzle and pressing in on the piston, and to my surprise it slid right into the cylinder with little to no resistance, I thought it was supposed to require a good amount of force to push the cylinder in when you cover up the nozzle. Is the Oring on the piston head not sealing properly? or is this a normal charicteristic of a disasempled mechbox. now onto the spring. The rifle is shooting about 430, and thats a bit high for my field. I am haveing one hell of a time finding a PSG spring that has less energy then the 160 I have now, has anybody seen one online, or have one I can buy? Thanks! Matt

You do need to push the piston in "sharply". You're basically simulating a spring shooting the piston forward.
If you're sliding it in slowly...the might not be sufficient buildup of pressure to create a seal betwen the o-ring and cylinder. If you're doing that and still not getting anything...you need to address the oring/cylinder fit. Search for "stretching an oring" or something similar. |

Thanks M102404 I found that this little experince has given me a lot more confidence with mechboxes, I dont think I'll have too many problems with V2s if I could figure out the V4 so quickly :P
