G36C Handgaurd pin retainment issues.

I have a KWA G36C and today the pin that hold the handgaurd (which also houses the battery) fell out during a skirmish. Upon close inspection it is "held in place" by a small o-ring. This o-ring tore, hence it's falling out. Not a great design in my mind. Any "fixes" that can be done besides replacing the o-ring that would be an improvement over the original design?

Thank you.

Thread the end of it and stick a screw in it. That's what I did and it holds fine. You can krylon the screw or use a black plastic cap on it.

Something like this is what you're after. The spring clip keeps it in place.
