TM AK47 Won't Fire
I made the stupid mistake of leaving my AK47 at a friend's house where some flea market bb's got used.. of course one of them jammed and now that I've gotten the gun back it won't fire. I've taken the body apart, cleared the barrel of the stuck bb, but when I pull the trigger my motor constantly spins. There is no clicking sound. I don't have a t10 driver here so I'm off to pick one of those up but does anyone have an idea of what might be the problem?

Try taking the single screw out of the bottom of the grip...down in the middle of that, there is a tiny allen screw (1.5 or maybe 2mm). Tighten (clockwise) that screw to raise the motor...that will engage the motor pinion with the bevel gear. Once that one big screw is off, you can simply (and gently) pull the grip off straight down. It might be snug because of the wiring, but it should slide off so you can get a better look at what's going on.
Once it's fixed...club your friend with it. Best of luck (with the clubbing). Tys |

I've taken apart the whole gun and have the mech box in my hand. When the trigger is pulled I see the small connector that holds the bevel gear in place is in fact turning, and the motor turns slightly slower when attached to the gearbox so I know the motor is turning at least 1 gear.

I'd bet that one of your other gears has at least 1 stripped tooth...and that a broken part is jamming things.
You can turn the bevel gear (the one you can see at the bottom of the mechbox) by "hand" with a little screw driver. It's slow going, but should get firmer/tougher if the piston is being drawn back and compressing the spring. Crack it open...it'd be interesting to see what's what in it. Best of luck, Tys |
