okay, now I know what you did wrong. This is very common with first timers.
The bottom of your motor that goes into a little "space" inside the grip cap is not properly pushed in. Align it in before screwing the grip cap in. |

Alright. New problem. The battery now is overheating massively. The gun has only fired maybe 50 shots, and that's it, not including the blanks we've shot testing the motor (About 20 shots). The battery is a Ni-MH 2/3 AP 1100 mAh 8.4v
Any ideas? Thanks.

the motor is still very far up into the gearbox. The overheat is because the motor is struggling to make the gearbox work, therefore using more electrical current.

The motor no longer even spins. I'm guessing the battery is just dead at this point and needs to be recharged? The motor isn't even in the gearbox and nothing happens when the trigger is pulled.

Dead battery or open circuit.

Once you get it going again, use the motor adjustment screw to adjust the motor height until it is at its quietest point. I generally adjust it in until it whines a little, and then back it just enough for the whine to go away. I would seriously consider getting a motor that properly fits your gun (assuming that your current one is installed properly). |

I now no longer get any shots out with the high speed motor.
While it was still shooting, I had forgotten to put that little metal circle back in (believe it's called a delay or something). When I put it all back together, it now doesn't shoot at all. This seemed a little odd. The stock motor seems to still work just fine. Even doing delicate pushes on the motor to see if it's a positioning problem isn't solving anything. Going to adjust witht he allen key a little bit right now to see if I get any different result, but beside that, what else could be the problem? Since the motor did work before. Edit: Adjusting the allen screws did nothing. After a couple tests to see if I could get the gun to shoot, though, the motor seemed to "wind down" almost. It sounded like it started, then faded to being stopped. The battery started to feel slightly warm, too, and that battery is fully charged. Putting the stock motor in right now to make sure I can still get a shot out of that one still.

So when you have the motor attached to the gun, but not in the gearbox/grip, so outside, does it spin?
If it isn't spinning even when its out of the gun, but the stock one does, then it sounds like the motor's burned out somehow.

Well the high speed motor outside of the gearbox does spin. Then give it a few minutes and it will gradually slow down until it stops. If you feel the battery at this point, the battery is warming up. The motor does seem to be functioning just fine.
After when we put the stock motor back into the gun and hooked it up, it isn't spinning either, so now I'm looking at the battery like something is wrong with it. This one is news to me, since we usually test the stock motor, than the high speed motor. This time, we are testing the high speed motor, than the stock motor, and now the stock motor doesn't work with the battery I have.
