JG AK Beta - Juice but fire
EDIT : Title should say - Juice but no Fire
Looking for some help or guidance before I take apart the mech box. First...I already stripped the gun down to check the gears and put back together, but the problem still happens. When I press the trigger, I can hear the motor make a noise, but it does not fire (If I remove the fuse, at makes no noise at all). The gun does not have any upgrades (as far as I know) bought it from the classifieds. I am just running the stock battery it came with. Any help would be appreciated,

I'd suspect the battery. Make sure it is fully charged if that still doesn't work, try another one.

Battery is fully charged.... It was working before.... but 1 day about 2 or 3 weeks ago, I took it out of the closest and took a shot. It fired once and just stopped working.... I checked everything and the only thing I could see was the fuse was blown. So Obviously I have replaced the fuse since, but it has not fired since.
The only thing that I can think of that I did wrong before the 1 shot and dead day was I left the battery in the gun for about 2 weeks ( I know you are not supposed to do this, I just forgot, not sure if that makes a difference?

I had a problem with one of my JG ak mechboxes and it seemed to be faulty, Only thing about mine was it got one shot then never worked again. It may have been a mechbox issue which overloaded the fuse with the strain on the motor.

i would put my money on this being a motor height issue.
sometimes motors will lock up, even if its worked at that height before you may have to loosen it off quarter turns and put the trigger after each turn until it fires. once i play with the motor height until it shoots i find a happy medium where it doesnt sound grindy, but doesnt seemed strained. |

Thanks Jaxxin.... I think the motor height is fine as it does align with the beval and it does work as I have tested it outside of the mechbox.
I took the mechbox apart and back together several times, put in metal bushings, replaced all the gears except the anti-reversal latch. The same thing happens everytime......I put the shell back together and everthing fits fine. Then I test fire and you hear the gears start to spin, but then they just stop and the gears cease up and do not move. I can hear the motor trying to move but the beval gear will not let it. What can be the issue? here are pictures after just cracking the mech box from having this problem. By the looks of it, something is stopping my tappet plate from moving back. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im dead serious man! i have seen this 'half cock lock up' on many many many aegs before. 9 times out of 10, if you have taken it apart and put it back together multiple times, and it still doesnt work, just try this out... it takes like 10 seconds.
back the motor way off. even until its grinding and not catching, until you can hear the motor spin. (dont do it to much or you will strip the pinion gear of course) start tightenning it alittle bit until it cycles. just try it. back it way off, pull the trigger a couple times till it shoots, then tighten it back up until its snug. i see this happen ALL THE TIME! |

Could be shimming. Did you do a proper shim job and check the shimming with the compression parts out, closing the mechbox with screws and trying to turn the gears?

Thanks Jaxxin and Styrak.... She is a working like a charm!!! I re-shimmed (it was my first time) and adjusted the motor, not sure which one made it work. it was probably a combo of both.
Thanks again and Cheers!
