I just can't get enough of this gun. It really is quite amazing. I'm always thrilled to see one of your new gun pic threads. It's always something pretty special.
Not sure I agree. IMO, as soon as "ladies" is in the mix, you can kiss the other 2 goodbye.

1. Screw that connects mid frame to the grip's trigger guard 2. Grip safety 3. Leaf spring 4. Rear sight assembly (the assembly in this state actually consist of 7 parts. 8 on a standard Hi-Capa 5.1) 5. Hop Up Chamber assembly (the assembly consists of 7 parts) 6. Disconnector cover plate 7. Disconnect trigger 8. Disconnect trigger spring 9. Valve knocker spring 10. That lever that sits between the trigger stirrup and the sear 11. The spring & lock for the magazine catch 12. The guide and the tiny pin that holds the hammer spring in place 13. The screw in the cylinder/nozzle that holds the valve blocker in place 14. Plug spring If I break the list down further in to their specific part numbers, there are actually about 30 parts on this gun that are still stock. So for all those people who still always ask me: no, it's not easy to build a Hi-Capa from scratch. Sourcing all the tiny parts are very difficult.

You need a base gun that contains all the support bits, and the most of the rest can be replaced. I probably wouldn't gone as far as replacing the plunger, but in my Hi-Capa and one that I am planning for the future most will be replaced....

Full size here: http://www.pbase.com/illusive_airsof...6/original.jpg It looks almost the same as the previous grouping test, but I overlayed both images on top of each other in Photoshop and drew a circular marquee against the major grouping (discarded the 1 or 2 strays) and noticed that the 6.01 inner barrel was marginally tighter. Not by much, but enough. On top of that, velocity went up - peak velocities were as high as 325.4fps w/ 0.30g BBs, which is 1.48Joules. That power shooting a 0.20g BB will yield 399fps. In the past, I was able to get this gun to shoot as hard as 1.55 Joules, which is equivalent to 408fps with 0.20g BBs, and this was through the Nine Ball 6.03mm tightbore. I have changed a lot of parts since then, so I'm not surprised to see a change. I believe the part that would have brought the higher FPS was the Nine Ball Air Seal Chamber that I use to have in it. It really does increase velocity by 5-15fps.

Just throwing this on this page, since it's also an Executive. If I didn't already have a couple of Standard Division type pistols, I would have kept this one... was really nice, and shot pretty hard for an internally stock gun:
No time to take more pix than that. I'm sure you've all seen Executives before. If I had kept this bad boy, I can guarantee a good chunk of parts would still change... externally, it looks great though. I love the look of block cut slides/frames. |
