KWA FTW!!!!!!!!!
anyway.... so hopefully ppl are learning lessons here if they havent been learned before... for ppl with KWA guns DO: - replace piston head with a polucarbonate ball bearing one (or MASK one) - replace stock rubber shock obsorber with a sorbo pad. DONT: - touch anything else other than the 2 above. - overgrease with sorbo pad in since glue will deterriorate. the gun is amazing stock...just needs certain preventative measures. |

I'm surprised that no one has mentioned dryfing.
Don't shoot your gun with no ammo just to hear it go *POPOPOPOPOPOPOPOPOPOPOP". Period. Ever.

Oh...thanks for the reminder on that one!
The stock KWA's make a fantastic dry-fire sound.... Especially with a big battery. What a racket! On a 11.1v lipo with the stock aluminum piston head/cylinder head...my wife actually exclaimed from the kitchen, "WOW, that one sounds wild!"...my own tamer AEGs don't get the same reaction I demo'd a stock KWA M4A1 and compared the sound of it to a setup with a Systema silent head set (both dryfired with comparable motors and batteries) to a bunch of guys that came over...then I showed them a few mechboxes (cracked/not-cracked/etc...) and explained what was slamming into what and where the shock was being transmitted... Every single one of them changed out their piston heads after hearing/"seeing" the difference... (and their rifles still shoot well) |

thanks for the help guys. If the "warranty shell" venue is a no go, I was thinking of a reinforced shell, like a systema and I think Bordensniper is right, the head swap would be a good reccomemdation.
-outta box brand new from KWA non tested, I Chronied 420FPS, I dropped after about a Month to 415FPS and I had recently (sept.) gotten it to settle down to 407-410FPS. -I played one game at flag raiders, where I indeed stored my equipment indoors before the chilly game on Nov. 26th, so I kinda have a nagging suspicion that is broke prior to that, because at the game it worked just as well as it did during Border wars. Bordensniper, what have you got done to yours? |

I havent done anything but kept it stock for now, mine lasted stock for the time being...but i just recieved my sorbo pad and poly piston head so im swaping them asap once my exams are done....that will improve any gearboxes durability by much...
i have thought, constatnly lube it with G&P grease, and never almost fired it dry. |

The "warranty" was a no go, as suspected but, I got a new shell and sorbo pad, and put the rifle all back together. With lots of grease and I stuck with the aluminum piston head. fires like new again....maybe now since there is some closure, this thread can be trashed.
