That part of the slide doesn't do anything for you though....

After every 1-2 mags, I take everything apart, touch the wears, and every time I do that, I have a greyish black substance on the finger.

@RacingManiac:is'nt that part is one of those part on the slide that got hit by the chamber everytime it cycles? i cant remember where, but there's a guy who got his slide bashed up real good on that area.i test my gun with the SD chamber and plastic slide and the chamber allready left a mark in less than 10x manually racking the gun.i think maybe, just maybe if i put some sort of shim there, that shim will "push" the chamber a bit earlier & reduce the impact on the side (where our's got damaged the most).u dunno,i guess ill just try and post the results.
Mr.Hitman:yes i noticed that on mine too, but thats normal right, all of my friends gun are also like that.but the chewed up look on the slide is really bugging me.i cant just let go and use the gun untill the slide fails. |

That part should really only touch the slide once the barrel return to battery fully.

found a temporary solution by replicating what a compensator would do to outer barrel&chamber assy.put a few round layers of surgical tape on the front most of the outer so that the slide pushes the tape and pull the outer barrel forward BEFORE the chamber even hit the deformed part of my (and RacingManiac's) slide.this method even solve problem no:1 on first page (slide occationally stuck on approx 1cm on its way back to battery). one weakness to this method is that since i use tape,it got deformed/pushed forward by the slide after only 1-2 mags.any ideas for a stonger/more permanent solution?thanks |

Machine the tip of the exposed barrel to a uniform diameter(since the bull barrel is coned), and machine a spacer with the same ID(actually smaller, by maybe 0.0005") as the machined OD and press fit to the barrel. Thats what I'd probably do.

actually MadMax's Hi-Capa has that exact fix, though I am not sure how he did it. Perhaps try PM him....

He machined a grove and a bushing to fit between the inner and outer barrel and put a spring inside the pushes the outer forward (and yeah...we could all do that if we weren't mildly retarded when compared to him...). Brillantly effective and puts zero wear between the barrel and the slide. Good luck getting him to do that for you...

the thing is my outer+chamber used to jam/stuck during blowback so i install this mechanism
http://airsoft-barracks.com/forums/i...showtopic=8365 and it totally eliminates all jam.but with it i cant install what madmax did to his gun. i dont know why the chamber jams in the first place. |
