Probs with mystery metal foregrip

When I was in japan I purchased a metal front end for my m16. Looking at the package it said "will fit most m4/m16 gun makes", then, clever me, I threw the packaging out, this was two years ago. I now forgot the brand of it and everything. It even had installation instructions on the package...I'm an idiot.

So now I'm stuck without instructions. As I see it there is no way that i can attach this to my newly acquired Dboys metal body. I can't see any way to do it.

I'm going to throw some pics in here and hope that someone can either determine the make of it and potentially tell me what i'm doing wrong.

Here goes.

This is the package.

And this is the front end of the mystery foregrip where the barrel would come out. I have no problems with this end as it does what it's supposed to.

The end receiver end of it.

I'm assuming this bit goes between the fore grip and the receiver.

And the opposite side.

If anyone has any ideas as to what the hell I'm supposed to do, please post it up.

Thanks.

Looks kinda like an AUG phantom kit. You sure it's for an armalite?

EDIT: Nevermind the AUG phantom kit looks a little different.

It's definitely an armalite kit, I can say that 100%.

Looks like you have the foregrip, but are missing the outer barrel to run inside it. I could be mistaken though.

That's all great info guys thanks. However, that still doesn't explain how I'm supposed to attach the actual fore grip to the receiver. All I have are the parts that I pictured and that's it.
There aren't any screws or anything that would allow me to fasten it to the receiver.
I've been pm'd about an available barrel but I don't want to get it to find out I'm still where I was before but with a new outer barrel.

Is the ring you have threaded? If so, you just need an outer barrel and you attach it with that ring to the body.

Its a repro PRI SPR frontend. You dont need an outerbarrel with something like that. The frontend barrel nut should be threaded to mount directly onto the receiver and if its not you may be missing some parts.

Nothing is threaded on it.
I just realized tonight that the ends (refer to second and third pics) are actually held in by two little hex screws which allows me to swap inserts (refer to last three pics)...this brought me a little closer to fitting it, but again, I can't figure out how to get the whole unit onto the receiver.

There's also a hole for what I can only assume is the "gas tube" and which travels from the front of the grip right into the receiver...however, I can't see this as being integral to the fastening of the entire unit.

As far as missing parts, the only way I could be missing parts is if it didn't come in the package (which I know is possible) because I took everything out and taped it all together.

(I took it all out of the package because I was going from Japan to Australia [strict customs] and I didn't want them to be able to identify what it was for.)

Bleh. I dunno, this is balls. I've got everything I need to finally complete the project that has been in the works for a few years, and now, something that sparked the project goes tits up. Weird how that works.

In an airsoft gun the gas tube is just for show it serves no purpose , it would travel from just inside the reciever to just inside the frontsite. The only way i could see it mounting with the parts provided is if it somehow uses the standard barrel nut and clamps onto it. Looking at this pic http://s301.photobucket.com/albums/n...nt=Photo48.jpg my guess is that you use the standard barrel nut (possibly with modification) and tighten the allen screws into it.

That's the thing, modification would require me actually threading my fore grip. The pieces included do fit over the barrel nut (I'm assuming the barrel nut is the bit that keeps the outer barrel attached to the receiver) but it leaves a huge, ugly gap between the receiver and fore grip. Not only that but the allen screws don't keep it from wobbling all over the place. Looking at it and fiddling with it for a few days now I can honestly say that without severe modifications there is no way that this will go onto my gun and I don't have the tools/shop to do these modifications.

I have made an order for a used SPR front end which has been on a gun so is proven to work so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm going to try to use whatever I can off my old one and then see if I can use whatever's left over for something else.

As for the gas tube, I understand that they don't have any functionality other than pure aesthetics, just exploring possibilities.
