You can come over and watch me take apart
2 WA HiCap frames. I'm gonna combine all the
fanciest part onto one build.

Yikes, your asking for trouble inmo when you
file down the hammer notch. Polishing is fine
for a smoother effect, but any wear now may
lead to you having the full-auto mess. If you
wan't a lighter pull, maybe get a bearing hammer
with matched sear. The silver wedge is called
the disconnector. Why would you have to bend
the leaf spring more if the parts traveled more
smoothly? Crazy strong hammer spring?

Yep, the trigger/loop will hit the mag release
eventually. You IPSC guys, geez! Always tryin'
to shave 2 milliseconds off your trigger time lol
I'm gonna come out and bring back the "cool"
to target shooting. Gonna load and walk slow
with a limp while shooting from the hip.

Ass...that's why I didn't come get your help...LOL, just kidding.

I didn't take too much off...just a little. The sear and hammer still have lots of engagement, but it breaks cleanly now. Yes...completely anal retentive and unnecessary...but for us obsessive compulsive types it's mandatory to keep messing with things. I bought a 2nd hicapa to mess with...the stock one stays stock and works just fine.

When it wears, I spring for fancy parts...good excuse to trick things out. Capital costs are not good, maintenance and upkeep expenditures are allowable (I'm doing the budget now at work... ).

The disconnector was "sticking" and wouldn't freely travel up into position under the sear. Sort of every other trigger pull would work. I may have had things tightened up too much...I reassembled and lubed (silly oil) and it seems to work every time now.

I may fiddle with lightening the middle finger...and see what effect that has.

I'm sure that this 5.1 is going to be broken when I finish with it...but it's sure fun to mess with it.

Thanks Steve,

Tys

It bottoms out on the mag release
