Sorry for reviving this thread, but I saw it and thought I would post a few pictures of my airsoft gear as a work in progress.
Forgot to put on kneepads, and I don't have a pistol/holster.

Good effort, but it might have been a better idea to post when your project becomes much more advanced than it is now.
I think you are just a bit too far from your goals currently. I haven't played MGS4, but from the reference pictures other posted here is what I can see is wrong (If there are pictures from outside of these reference pictures I do not know of, someone please let me know.) -Do the PMC guys in the game use SCAR? -Helmet lacks Wilcox mount -Goggles are incorrect, you need Bolle T-800s not SWD -Your vest is even the right one, you need CIRAS -Your pants are too big for you, in length and waist -Boots are incorrect too This and obviously you are like you said lacking the holster and kneepads, as well you probably don't have the pouches you need (which are quite a few) for the vest as well as the belt. All in all, a long way off from competion. |

Yeah, my actual vest is still yet to come in, it's a modular operator plate carrier- I actually use a p90, so I ordered p90 mag pouches for the vest.
I want to eventually get the right boots, and as for the pants I will be using boot clips to take up some of the slack. Honestly, I don't really care about the goggles, and the real protech helmet is something I will be ordering down the line. I'm simply basing my setup off of the PMC soldier, not making an exact replica. I appreciate the constructive criticism though. Also, I'm not really sure how old/new this screenshot is, but it does show the PMC soldier using a SCAR-H, and I believe that they also use the SCAR-L.

Every Army has their standard service rifle, if you're in the US, then its the M16A4, here in my army the Austeyr F88A(1-2) for Australia, etc. They made the "US" have the XM8 because its realistic to the storyline that we can relate to, ie. they could have made the XM8 to replace the M16 as they were about to here in reality, 'cos in the game its the future, as it was designed for. As Rat-01 is part of the US Forces in the story line, they pack the XM8. Hope that answers why they switched from the M4 to the SCAR-H's. |
