WE 1911 Classic Trouble

so i recently bought a 1911 NIB here on ASC, but am having a couple problems with it.

Problem #1: the slide release switch wont lock into place when a mag is empty. i have to manually put it into place.

Problem #2: when the second mag is in the gun, and the slide is locked back, when i use the release it gets stuck part way when sliding forward. this problem does not happen with the other mag.

now i have no idea whats wrong with problem one, but i'm thinking a little silicon will fix problem 2. thoughts and suggestions??

for problem #1 take the mag apart and check the follower for excess plastic or anything preventing it from going all the way up.

for problem #2 try working the slide by hand a couple hundread times. This should break it in.

else we'll see you tomorrow

Correction, for problem number one, that happened with every WE 1911 or Hicapa I owned (3).

Duilin, I've done some searching (since I just got my WE 1911 Tactical and was having the slide not-locking-back problem), and it seems you either have to file down the plunger that catches the mag (?), or just use the gun for a while, and it'll eventually wear itself down.

Personally, I am going to wait until it files itself down; last time I opened a GBB, I couldn't put it back together...

Are you kidding...
HiCapas and 1911 are one of the easiest GBB I had to work with.

Try opening a P99 just for fun... that is a pain in the A.

Well, the last gun I opened was an HFC P229. After it exploded (I MAY have been drunk), I got pissed and sold it for $40.

Just took apart my 1911 to paint the slide. And putting it back together was easy. Maybe just that damn HFC was the problem.
