Battery oozing out electricity?
Recently, I have purchased 3 NiMh batteries and had charged them fully.
After firing a few rounds, not enough to finish off the battery even partially, I disconnect the batteries and put it aside. After a day or so, I connect it back onto my AEG and it does not fire, but will fire after I recharge it again. I'm wondering if this is normal? That it loses electricity while it's away from the AEG? PS: It seems to lose power slower or does not lose power if it's constantly connected with the AEG. Thanks for sharing. |

What type of surface are you placing the battery on?

I had a similar problem recently with a 8.4V 1400mAh NiMh mini. It seemed to take a full charge at first but bled power like crazy after just a week. I had bought two of the same battery (intellect cells) and charged both one after another. After one week I tried them both and while one seemed fine the other barely had enough juice to get through a mag.
I marked the seemingly bad one and set about trying to recondition the battery. I think because the battery had been in a discharge state for so long (prior to purchase) my charger had trouble determining when it had reached full charge. After a few cycles of charging and discharging (I made sure not to do a deep discharge) the bad battery seems to be holding up. I charged both batteries again and let them sit for a week. This time both batteries ran well, there was no discernable difference in their performance. While I still think the bad one is not at optimum performance I was at least able to salvage it. |

Usually with most new batteries, you have to cycle them several times before they are up to peak performance. NiMH and NiCad are known for this.

I dont even need to search the FAQ for that one, this issue has been brought up many times and cycling the batteries "a few times" will help you see if the battery is faulty or if it just needed to be cycled a few times to get the juices flowing. In most cases it just needed to be cycled |
