WE Hi-capa not blowing back properly.

I have a pal's WE Hicapa 3.8" and am having some small issues with it. The gun cocks and fires without any issues, what happens is you load a few shots, cock to fire and then problems happen. Once you pull the trigger, pop, one shot goes out, the slide hardly moves, the hammer is only halfcocked, and no bb is loaded. I thought it might be the floating valve, but upon taking apart the blowback chamber and pulling it out, it looks perfectly fine. All of the stems are in good shape and not broken. The o-ring is present and looks good.

I am at a loss. Right now I have a gas-powered springer and its annoying.

Any ideas?

Assuming the gun cocks fine and there are no slide fitment issues it does sound like a floating valve problem. Try taking the blowback chamber apart but leave the floating valve, valve spring and valve stopper in place. Push hard on the valve until the valve is all the way in the nozzle. When you let go the valve should come right back to the stopper. If it doesn't then your valve has become worn and you get the obvious results. I had the same problem with my TM 5.1 a while back. I bought the SD POM nozzle set and now have two functioning valve/nozzle sets.

the valve pops back immediatly. It has no cracks or wear marks on it at all. Still at a loss for whats going on.

Your mag seal is not sealing properly with the blowback chamber inlet. All your gas is expelled to propel the bb and out the poor seal area. Different mags and different lower/slide combos will solve the problem, but you'll need a few guns to cannibalize for testing.

The only fix is to spend countless hours with a dremel and a needle file to remove casting ridges left all over the gun to get a better fit on the slide to internals and frame.

I've seen this countless times already with the W.E. guns.

The wierd part is that it used to work without any hitches at all. It just kindof started out of nowhere.
