Gaurder Hop-up problem

I just changed out my TM stock hop-up rubber with a Gaurder hop-up rubber. Even with my hop-up off it is still sending shots way to high. I noticed that there is a little nub on the inside of the rubber which makes me think that the nub is to big and always sticks down.

My other thought was that the little round piece that pushes the rubber into the barrel is to big. Doesn anyone have any experience or advice?

It an TM aug by the way

problem solved. The nub that pushes the rubber down was to big and made it stick down at the lowest setting. Found a smaller piece of "nub" to use and it's all good.

I appreciate you posting the solution you came up with. I noticed the same issue and wasn't sure what to do to fix. I just assumed there would be some break-in period...

The Guarder black stuff? I thought that the nub was really stiff, so even with the hopup set at zero it'll give so little that it'd be pushing the bucking down more than any stock nubs. Never thought the nub was any bigger than the stock, that's interesting and you could be right, but the solution's the same nonetheless. Right now I'm using the Guarder clear nub with the black bucking.

Using the clear rubber and nub is the best. The Guarder black isn't nearly as good as the clear (50%) rubber. I found out the hard way, black is too stiff and makes for crappy shots and hop up adjustment (in my MP5 and my CA M24), where the clear is a dream to use, for my application anyways. I've gone through a few sets over the past couple years, so I can say they are pretty consistant.

Incidentally, I recently got a second MP5 and found the stock TM rubber to be too hard and it shot like crap.......... 4-5"........, even at 30ft in my basement. I scrounged the old clear Guarder sleeve (from my M24 after I changed rubbers, I prefer to keep my hop up sleeves fresh, changing every 6 months or so, as well, found that the fps my sniper rifle shoots at, my rubber nub splits after hundreds of rounds) but couldn't find a clear bucking nub, so I found a softer black nub and installed everything. Gun is shooting a lot better now........2-3" groups, but I found adjustment to be twitchy on game day when I tried it. Just got my WGC order today, G&G low profile mount and three sets of Guarder 50% clear hop up rubber for all my guns.

The clear stuff work best for me, too, when it fired. For some reason, it caused a lot of jams as well.

Gotta keep a thin bit of lube on the breech to prevent that. Never had a jam in my M24, but every half dozen games or so my MP5 would plug a bit, drop of oil later I'm back up & running fine.

I picked up a Systema hop up sleeve and Prometheus hop up unit..Same issues..the little nub seemed big..its all lubed, but still can't seem to get enough hop up on the bb. I am shooting around 340 fps or under right now..with .20's, but I game with .25's. I noticed it tends to have more hop on full rather than semi. I wonder if more FPS will help because of the sleeve thickness?

I'm using the clear gaurder sleeve with the TM stock nub or a pic of tiny tubing I found.

Shooting .2s (doesn't help) at 280fps.

The TM nub was just a hair smaller than the Gaurder which seems to be making the difference. I figured it was just a break in period as well but after a 2 full days of gaming and shooting way over peoples head or getting unwanted head shots I was just ready to break it!
