TM-M14 questions.

Hey all.

I have a couple questions. To explain why... I'm doing a homemade conversion to my M14.

What i need to know:

How do i take the 'shell' off of the gun, this being the stock and hand guard. Once off, will the barrel/trigger/mechbox assembly come out as one peice? I have never taken a gun apart and as such, wouldnt know.

secondly... i have NO idea how to take the flash-hider/sight assembly off... any suggestions?

See your manual on how to do a quick takedown.

You have to pop open the trigger guard, remove that assembly. Then switch your gun to Auto mode and you should be able to pull out the entire barrel/selector/mechbox/motor assembly in one piece.

As for the flash hider, you'll have to undo an angled set screw, which will allow you to remove the flash hider. In order to get the front sight assembly off, you'll have to look for another set screw to release in order to remove the assembly.

I dont have the manual, bought it used... but thanks.

One last question... how do i POP open the trigger guard... sorry for the spoonfeeding request but i have no manual, and dont really feel like breaking it.
