Need help IDing a tac vest
Hey guys, ok here's the deal, i was down in victoria today and i stopped in at Capital Iron....and lo and behold look what i find, a brand new tac vest for 78.00....hmm, this has to be wrong me thinks...so i ask the bloke and no the price tag is correct....so again hmm i go, lets see who made this then?
No trade marks what so ever, anywhere, no labels, no print, just fabric and clips....the stitching is alright, and some of the side straps may need tidying up at the ends, but other than that the vest is not too bad. Very odd, but i bought her (can't go wrong for $80 ;-) ), and she's pretty lol...anywhoo, was just wondering if any of you could help me id the maker? Or if not that, just give your opinions...you know the drill. http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture001.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture002.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture003.jpg So yeah, any help would be greatly appreciated.. Pip P.S. I can take more pics if you guys want, pm me and let me know... |

Its basically a woodland copy of the Hong Kong SDU vest. The version below is made by Mil-force but various other makers have their own versions.
http://www.packrat-toyz.com/images/Mil-Force/sdu-c.jpg There becoming fairly common in Canada and $80 is about right for the price (although Army Issue surplus does sell them for $70, although I don't know who makes their version. I heard Parklands but I'm not too sure). |

They have a cadpat version too....i bought one, probably not going to use it much since I prefer my CIRAS much more, but hey, it was like $50-60.
Not enough mag pouch though, and the vest smells kinda funky (which will probably go away). |

Hmm, righto, thanks guys...not a bad find considering i wasn't looking for it lol..as for mag pouches i aggree, there could be more, but you know what, for the price i paid, i'm content. They also had a flecktarn version and a black one too...just if anyone is interested. It's a shame i'm not using an M4, having to roll up one of my stinky old socks to stuff down in the bottom of the pouch so my M14 mags don't get lost lol..

SWAT teams don't usually gear up with 14 mags.

well it was bought as an impulse rather than anything specific, sort of a mercinary look i have right now, various bits and bobs, nothing matching much...
