G&P M4A1 (Fixed Stock) Problem
Hey Folks,
I bought a G&P M4A1 About 6 months ago. Took it out a few times for skirmishes and the like and it was firing fine and dandy. Shot for shot it was accurate, and steady FPS. Recently I bought a suppressor for it as well as a RAS kit. After this was installed the AEG is acting funny. Problems: - Inconsistant velocity. Will fire a BB far, (40ft) no problem, and sometimes when it feels like it at random will burp a BB about 5 ft. - Accuracy. NON-existant, fires all over the place. - BB's getting stuck on the supressor. BB will fire but rips into the supressor. - Misfire. At random it will not shoot a round. I should mention that the piston sounds fine and is cycling, though the shots that misfire the piston sounds like a muffled 'thud' as opposed to a crisp, 'clack'. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I've already wasted gas driving to a skirmish and having my AEG crap out on me. Cheers!

Part of the problem may be the hopup or the airnozzle. G&P by history has many issues with its internals. Just do a search for G&P reviews and you will see what others have to say about this.

Might also have a cracked tappet plate because of the nozzle. Might explain some of the loading problems.

has he tried firing it with the silencer off?.. see if it goes back?
I wonder if the inner barrel has moved and now moves around a bit... Oh and I found the problem in my G&P M4 that caused some miss fire and odd shots. Check for the spring on your hop up. Mine was firing fine and then I did some cleaning and put it back together and it was shooting all over the place I'd get jammed bb's and just hectic, real piss me offs. Anyway took it apart again and found that there was no spring on my hop up slapped that in and it was fine. Now I have a problem with stripped pistons... grrr

One thing I did was email G&P with the problems and symptoms found, I also let them know how old my gun was and they started to send me replacment parts free of charge to fix the issue. Even when I ended up sending it to MacGuyver for him to check over and he was able to trace it down to a deformity in the lower receiver after countless tests and retest as it was as I said possessed, they are shipping me a new one free of charge. Give it a try, they stand behind their products and know they have had issues.
email I've been conversing with them on is: autumnstar@gp-web.com Tell them when you bought it, if you can find out where your retailer brought it in from (either direct from G&P or from Redwolfe, etc), what issues you have, and what you have tried and checked/done to try and fix it. |
