Thompson Fire Selector Switch
I admit I'm just a newbie so if any one can help?
My problem is with my new M1A1 Thompson by Toyko Mauri. When I received my Thompson and installed my fully charged 8.4v battery, to my shigrin having turning back the saftey switch and pulling the trigger set on single shot the Thompson did not come alive. I switched back and forth between single and full auto a few time but...nothin. Having call the dealer from with I purchaced the Thompson, he commented to me that the fire selector switches are typically a problem and I would need to reset the switch by depressing the trigger while in semi auto then slowly rotating the switch to full auto and it will shoot. I tried, and it does work "however" there must be a more permanant or decisive fix. Resetting the trigger as suggested by the retailer is not fixing the gun for prolonged use. If it is not shot constantly, the next time I try to shoot I find the switch needs to be set againg using the same method. Could be quite irratible in the heat of battle to say the least. Has anyone had this problem or know what may be done to fix it? |

i had the same problem with my TM p90, except the trigger locked up as well. i did some digging and the solution was very similar to yours. set it to fullauto and hold the trigger down and it will start to fire. i asked around about as to what was the cause and i was told its pretty comon for quite a few guns to do that if you shoot in single fire often. my Sig 550 has developed this issue as well and i have to do the single to auto trick you were told. havent found a long term fix yet, but i havent done much looking on that end of it yet.
