Cyma VFC-clone v3 cylinder head is V2 or V3 ?

Hello,

I stumbled uppon this post on reddit where the guy shows an image comparing :

-cyma stock cylinder head (cm040)
-Lonex V3 cylinder head

Notice the metal hump that appears on the lonex one and that doesn't on the cyma's ?

Here's the long story :

-Lonex V2 head doesn't have that metal hump on top, but is said to have smaller holes on the sides. I could drill them larger on my drillpress but I fear making them not line up properly and causing issues of alignment.

-Lonex V3 head has that hump that I could easily remove using a belt sander and finishing it by hand but will the holes to the side be too large ?

Please can someone enlighten me ?

In the lack of answer, I had to try it !

The answer is : it will work if you grind the extra part off. BUT... the pipe length is quite shorter, I don't know yet if that will cause any issues but the gun is cycling correctly anyways in full auto. Can someone tell me if that'll lead to issues ?

Here are pictures :

And also if you wonder if you need the short or long air nozzle... You need the short one !!!!

some V3 gearboxes have that stupid cutout for the chunk on the lonex cylinder head.

If you aren't sure a v2 cylinder head should almost always work.

So you say that a V2 head would have worked fine ? An airsoft store tech guy answered me it wouldn't as the holes on the side would be smaller. You ever did that to a v3 vfc-clone gb and it worked ?

as far as I know they are the same, the only difference is the extra chunk on the top. I've run into more instances where the actual V3 head doesn't fit into V3 gearboxes than I have a V2 not fitting in a V3. And they've all not fit because they don't have a space for that extra chunk, or the gap is not the same size as the chunk.

I have done a few cyma AKs and used a v2 head.

Well that's the kind of info I could have used before hand... Whatever, let it be known that if you remove that extra chunk it will fit pleasingly well.
