Removing KSC G19 Magazine Base

I did the blue gasket magazine fix on my KSC G19 magazines a while back. Recently, a few of them sprung leaks, so I've been wanting to re-do the fix. However, I can't remove the base of the magazine anymore because of the blue gasket sealant. I've tried sticking a string with knots in it and trying to yank the base out, but I've been quite unsuccessful.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to accomplish this?

If you have the pins out point the mag into a box of rags and put your thumb on the rocket valve.

Then take your compressor and shoot high pressure air into the mag That should pop the end off.

same sort of thing...shoot a bit of gas into it via the fill valve...might help with popping it apart.

The other option is prying with a small/thin flathead screwdriver.

Then re-do it better!

I wouldn't use blue gasket maker on something like that. I'd go with the clear stuff you'd use to seal a shower. Easier to clean if it needs to come apart.

It's a tried and true method and has a FAQ/tutorial in the Doctor section actually.

I'm sure it works for lots of people. Just take one "if some is good lots is better" person dumping lots into a blind hole and you're trying to kludge together some sort of base plate extractor that will not have a side effect of destroying the magazine.

Sorry to bump this thread, but I've still been unable to remove the base of the magazine. I've tried sealing the magazine with some teflon tape and filling the mag with gas to pop the bottom out, but the gas just leaks out too quickly because of the bad internal seal.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Take a picture for me. I don't remember what the KSC glock mags look like. Does it have roll pins or is there a screw? Usually once the pins or screw is removed, just pop it off with a small jewelers flat head screw driver. You essentially need to pry up with enough force to break away from the sealant.

The base on the mag is held by roll pins. Here's a picture.

Okay. For starters, stop prying up from the holes. Think about it. If the roll pins go through them, what's the point of a roll pin? That opening is the outer shell of the mag.

Look closely at your picture. Notice that there's a faint line in the shape of a square with rounded corners? That is the part that comes out.

If you can't get a flat head in there to pry up, remove the fill valve and use a metal hook to pull the plate off. You still need to break the seal so it can be a little tough to remove.

I'm stuck with the same problem, got a used leaky mag that's been blue gasketed. I rather put a new rubber seal (like, 5-8$ each) to reseal my mags, faster, and easier to re-do if they ever leak again...

but done correctly, they will never leak again.

I said I tried prying from the holes *and* from the bottom.

I've tried paper clips tied to strings to yank the bottom out through the tube but I can't get a good hold on it. If anyone's got a good idea for what to use as a hook...
