TM/CMYA M14 EBR RIS Problem

Hey all,

For those of you who own or are familiar with the TM (or clone) M14 EBR, there is a little two-holed figure-8 piece/spacer that the outer barrel and bolt slide through. It screws to the body of the gun and one side has stripped for me. Is there some way to fix this or do I have to order a new part from somewhere? I honestly have ZERO idea where to find something like this and have had zero luck with my google-fu.

Any input would be much appreciated.

The only picture I could find on the internet of what it looks like (before I myself can take a picture), is this:

Did you strip the screw that attaches it to the top of the outer barrel or the piece that attaches to the RIS?
I've got an extra screw for the outer barrel piece, if that'd help.

Stripped the actual piece that attaches to it Appreciate the offer though! Still have no idea where to find this piece.

I've been digging around, and it looks as if you'll need to buy a whole new outer barrel assembly. In all honesty, I don't think it's worth the $115. What you might be able to do if you're handy with tools is rethread the piece that you've stripped. That'd probably be your best option.

Im not sure exactly what screw you stripped but your best options are
A. Buy the next size bigger (wider/fatter) and retap the hole the right size.
B. Shoot some JB weld into the hole and assemble it and let it set. May be hard to take apart after but it is and option.
C. Get a local machine shop to make you a new peice (prolly not cheap)
D. Fill the hole with jb weld or have a welder heat metal and melt it into the hole redrill and tap the size you need.

Option B is likely the easiest and cheapest way.
A would be the correct way aside from replacing or fabing a replacement.
D is prolly not cheap either and is kinda goofy unless you have the tools/skill to do it yourself or a brother/uncle/dad or someone who would do it for you otherwise you may as well pay to make a replacement.

Wow - these are all great ideas. I may try the wider screw size - but I'm sure I'll figure out something. The other side is still holding strong. I can't see how a piece like this would be hard to make though. I may have access to the appropriate equipment so it could be doable. I don't even think it needs to be curved to fit in the RIS, that may just be for style or for the original M14, not the bigger EBR RIS.

On a side note, does anyone know where I could find the part number for this thing? Or an original TM part list for an M14 or EBR?

Sorry for the double post. Here's a better pic. This is from a WE gun, but it looks exactly the same. I wonder if WE has a parts list I could order from?
