GBBP - Gas Leaks
I have a KJW 1911 GBBP. This thing is full metal with upgrades already out of the box. (It can shoot Green Gas or Co2)
Every time i load in a clip and start shooting after about 5 or 6 shots the entire Co2 canister just empties.. white cloud of gas just pouring out of it. it seems like something is being stuck in an open position and therefore allowing all of the gas to just come flying out. Everything is stock so i can't figure out why this is happening. I took apart the inner barrel and hop up unit to clean all of that out because it seemed like BB's were getting jammed.. i cleaned and greased everything to no avail i have no idea whats going on.. |

The problem is you're trying to put a clip in the mag well.
Have you lubed the mag? Have you cleaned and lubed the guns internals? Turn down the hopup? |

mag is all nice and lubed up...
Hop up is all cleaned and lubed up as well.. i did notice that even with the hop up turned all the way down there is still a little bit of a nub pushing into the inner barrel. Seems like i can't completely turn off the hop up.. maybe i can try just taking out the hop up all together and see if that will keep the bb's from jamming? |

Lol @coach! I was thinking the same thing
Lube the magazine release valve. It is probably getting activated for 5 or 6 shots, going conpletely dry and getting stuck 'depressed'. With gas OUT of the mag work the valve with your finger. If it gets stuck depressed with no gas then you for sure have a problem. Try lubing that valve, should bounce freely open n closed |

i wont rule the mags out but I've replaced all the o-rings and cleaned/lubed all of that up very well.. the mags don't leak at all now and the valves move freely. (i'll check all of that again though)

Alright, if all the magazine maintenance fails you may have a disconnector problem in which case you may need some one more expert to look at it. Maybe illusion can chime in and give you some help! could be anything from the valve knocker sitting out too far, to the knocker valve actuator/spring, to the disconnector not engaging which would mean problems with the 3 finger spring.

I've taken apart and cleaned everything on this pistol except the inner workings of that 3 finger spring thing.. I've seen plenty of videos and stuff but never worked on that.
I just tried again with all 3 of my Co2 mags and each one produced the same result.. several shots then it seems the slide/hammer sticks a little and then all the gas expels. With 3 mags failing the same way i'm going to rule out the mags all together. Last season i tried replacing the stock piston with a Dyna vented piston head. (This is a known upgrade for this model and seems to work) It didn't really work for me as the slide kept sticking after a few shots (i think it's the upgraded RED air nozzle in this gun) I started to try and sand/polish the inside of the nozzle and i think i may have caused some scratches that may prevent the nozzle from cycling properly.. who knows. Because i want to use that piston head I've been leaning towards upgrading to a Guarder Air Nozzle.. i may try that and see what happens. |
