WE AK PMC Hammer/Trigger Group Trouble
Youtube video of the problems: AK PMC Hammer Trouble - YouTube
So I was playing at Flag Raiders indoor, and my AK was doing fine with its new nozzle. Then it just stopped working. I saw that the hammer had come up, so I tried racking the bolt back but it wouldn't go, so I switched to a different gun for the rest of the game. I checked the AK again today after removing the cover and the return spring. I had to rack the bolt back quite hard to make it push past the hammer. After removing the bolt, I found the hammer quite weak. It doesn't seem to want to push down all the way, either. The trigger pull is also markedly harder. At the moment, my guess is that the hammer spring broke, and that something must be wedged beneath it to keep the hammer from coming down fully (this would also explain the hammer weakness). However, I can't seem to remove the damned trigger box. And I can't find any videos or other tutorials on how to do so. I managed to get one pin out, but there are two more that don't seem to want to move at all (the one in the trigger, and the one in the hammer). Does this look like a broken return spring? How the hell do I take the damn trigger box out? If it is the spring, where can I buy a new one? I looked at a few sites, and can't seem to find any. If I buy a new hammer, would it come with the spring? I can take more video or pictures if needed. |

There is only one pin that comes out.. the pins holding the hammer and trigger do not go through the body.. they are just in the trigger box... you are beating on fake pins

That makes a lot of sense. I got the gun used, and it didn't come with a manual. And I couldn't find any reference material for anything aside from real AKs.
So... I just take out that one pin and pry the box out with a slotted screwdriver? |

Great, thanks for that! I managed to get it apart and it turns out that it was the hammer spring, as I'd suspected earlier. The lower arm broke off beneath the hammer and prevented it from moving all the way down, as well as springing up with its full force.
Now I just need to source another spring. I don't suppose anyone knows where I could get one? Or if an aftermarket hammer comes with the spring/brass tube as well? |

I had the same broken spring. If you have a M4 hammer spring, you can cut half a piece and make one.
