Ca SVD outer barrel won't come off
Hey, so I'm trying to get to the hop up out of a svd and for the ca you have to thread the outer barrel off of the body. It won't budge, I'm not sure if they glued it or what but I have tried heating it up with a blow dryer and using a wrench but only managed to budge it 1/4 of a turn. Is it possible the blow dryer didn't get it hot enough? I left it on there for 5 min, I could touch the metal but was hot enough I wouldn't want to grab onto it. I now have it in the freezer going to try the reverse but if the issue is from glue I doubt the cold will help but I'm not sure what to try next. Anyone have experience with the CA svds? Thanks

I have no experience with this rifle, but as a pipefitter I know that after you heat up steel it expands. But when it cools it contracts to a tighter state than it was originally before you applied heat. So it may actually be tighter now that it's cooled. I'm not sure if a blow dryer is quite enough heat to apply to this situation.
Try to loosen it while the heat is still applied. If there is no hex screw, then it really should come off with a wrench. It must be loc-tite'd in. Wrap the tube with rags to avoid teeth marks. And try to hold back with a second wrench or a vice. Good luck!
