ICS MX5 battery installation help

A noobish question, but I hope any MX5 MS1 owners can clear this up for me:
Is there a trick to install the tri-stick (9.6v 1500mah 3-3-2) battery inside the hand guard. I tried all imaginable combinations and ways and I still cant fit the battery inside; it just wont close. For now I'm using a PEQ2 box so that's not a problem but id like to install the battery inside the hand guard.

Thanks in advance

Ill be honest with you, there is no way. Ive had it put in mine once. with major difficulty. Im currently just taping it to my gun. works decent. although the Stock is nice, you need to get a full stock. I recommend buying one used. Im planning on buying a used one and having it re wired to the stock. that way you can fir alot more batteries. you can buy a PEQ box, but a Giant PEQ box on a small SMG looks terrible. Well, you did buy the MX5 MS1, so I guess you dont care about looks :P but until then, just give up and use some sort of external pouch, im using a sung glasses bag, works fine.

Try a standard 8.4v mini pack instead.

Well after a lot of tinkering I found a way to install the battery in question: the problem is not with the battery itself but rather with the wires and the fuse on the MX5; they are too bulky and prevent the handguard from closing properly. Once the fuse is eliminated* and the connetor is relocated all the way back, there is enough room for the battery and the connector.

* You dont have to eliminate the fuse, you can just push it all the way to the left side in vertical position and it will fit; but its still a PITA

Another thing that helped was putting 2-3 layers of electrical tape around the batteries, this prevents them from moving around and sliding all over the place inside the handguard when putting it in place
