Looking for a good starter M4
So after playing with my ICS MX5 for awhile and having it break for the third time, I decided its time for an M4. I'm faced with a ton of choices, seeing as M4s flood the market, the choice is difficult to make. I've narrowed it down to two.
Echo 1 Troy King arms M4A1. The king arms obviously has better internals, but basic M4 carbines don't please me. If I want to get it how I like an M4, R.I.S, rail system, crane stock, flip up sights, it's going to be quite expensive. The echo 1 has all of those, but internally is just a chinese clone. Fortunately, I have a good gundoc. He can turn a shit gearbox into something worth shooting. I'm planning on getting it shimmed, re greased, upgrade the piston and have some other work done on it. I like how the king arms one is full metal, but I also don't mind poly carb. Its very light, and easy to carry. I found that the echo 1 will be a lot less costly to upgade and will end up looking better, but my opinion isn't as good as the ASC opinion. What do you guys think? |

Okay its like every week or so you talk about buying another new gun.... or something.
And King Arms M4 Upgrade a honda Civic, like tune it the fuck out. Still wont be as good as a purpose built racing machine. START WITH SHIT END WITH SHIT. |

Does it really matter what "ASC" recommends? If ASC recommended you got a Vegas hooker with no left leg and 2 fingers on her right hand would you go get one?
You'll find countless threads about the KA M4 and even more people in those threads saying "Great gun, go get it" that should be a solid indicator as to the quality of the gun out of the box. You don't see many (if any) threads where people rave and carry on about how great their ECHO 1 M4s are, this should be another solid indicator. At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what ASC recommends. You'll end up going out and getting whatever you want. |

KA M4 or WE AEG. Do your research, see what suits your needs

Yeah I have bad habit of finding a gun, researching the crap out of it, asking the newbie tank what they think about it, finding a major problem with the gun, and then restarting the process. I finally just bought an ICS MX5. It's already broken 3 times on me. The second time it broke, I made a rather negative review on it. Now I'm even more paranoid about buying guns. |

After the first time it broke maybe you should have looked for the problem, what was making it break?
After that, you could fix that problem so it doesn't occur again.

Any AEG/GBB will breakdown even the uber leet PTW they either happen in the beginning from shoddy assembly, QC or later on down the line from worn parts, it is a toy afterall and any expectation of a RS longevity is unrealistic. when will that happen who knows? it depend on how you use the toy, as far as your two choices both are quite good Echo1 have traditionally used VFC as their rebranded item |

For Marui compatible M4 AEGs, look at VFC, Classic Army (X-series), G&P or King arms. Don't touch G&G, ICS and others.

Ics is almost 100% compstiblr internally, besides the air nozzle and the shell, it's pretty good for upgrading. And vfc does look pretty nice, but if they're just a re brand will they have the exact same interals?mim looking for a gun that a gun upgrade and customize to my liking, and VFC can get pretty expensive. I gues an important thing that I should Sk, is if I do go with echo 1 for some reason, what would be the first thing I do to the gearbox? Besides shim, re grease, and. Uh a piston with metal teeth. |

You are looking for THE BEST GUN THAT WILL NEVER BREAK!
Internals are important of the AEG, Don't worry on the externals yet, Focus on the part that it makes it run, A Ris won't let your gun run it is the mechbox... If you still want a good running gun search around for a good gundoc if you aren't experienced doing internal work, Buying a gun will be good but having 2 will be great. If you don't want your ICS anymore leave it in your closet and get a WE m4 they have less problems than the king arms in my experience. Make your choice and do it, you got money well go spend it... |
