Probably a stupid question... But why most players don't use AEP anymore?
I know the GBB pistols are better than AEP in several ways... But just like AEG rifles vs GBB rifles, I kind of like the convenience of AEP for no need to buy/fill gas and no dealing with leaking. (Gee, I spent last month dealing with gas leaks in the lab, but that is another story.) I wonder why the AEPs are almost "extinct" in here.

There are AEP's being run in the field - but you are right, they aren't very common, as far as i have observed in my limited experience. |

AEP's suck because they have to scale everything down to fit inside a pistol package. The only AEP that I'd ever buy is the MP7 but even then..... there are some pretty nice GBB MP7's these days....

All of the AEPs (besides an SMG AEP like the TM MP7) I've seen either don't have hop-up, have a fixed useless hop-up, and have range shit range with anything heavier than .12. I found a TM Desert Eagle AEP firing .2 will see the BB drop instantly about 2 feet of leaving the barrel.
You could use one at places like TAC3 where the typical engagement distance is short, but it would be useless at outdoor games as light BBs would be carried off by the wind and foilage would block it completely. That doesn't stop some people from bringing clearsoft AEPs to games though... |

Lack of aftermarket parts support is the key reason. My Friend has a TM Uzi, getting parts and a gun doc dumb enough to work on it is a challenge.
Low fps means it's harder to import in then the GBB SMG's. External Build quality on AEP's Generally are on the poor side, same with the small battery unless you wire to take external. If I could get spare internals, and mechboxes without having to wait for Tokyo Marui to respond etc I would be interested. Always wanted a Skorpian or Uzi automatic pistol. |
