A&K Masada problem

This past weekend at Op Rhino my A&K Masada died in the middle of an intense insurgent on russian fire fight lol

Just stoped firing, no noise from the gearbox or motor. At first I thought my battery died but it didnt. I was using an 11.1v lipo at the time, tried my 7.4v and still doesnt work.

It was working perfectly fine. I got hit, went to respawn and reload, got back into action and it was just dead. I would really like to try and fix it myself and not take it to a gun doc.

- Fuse is fine, even tried a bypass and no luck.
- I have a lipo reader so I know its not my batteries.
- I was only doing small bursts and dont think I wrecked anything mechanical but I have not opened up the gear box.
- Yes I have checked the motor connections and they are tightly connected.
- I have inspected the wiring from gearbox to handguard and noticed what appear to be some light burn marks near what appears to be a really shity wire patch job which is strange because I bought the gun brand new from a retailer.

Any ideas? Greatly appreciate any help!

probably fried your wires/connectors thats what happens when you try and run a 11.1v lipo in a gun that's made by a clone factory. Either that or you fried the trigger contacts happens all the time with low grade parts.

I was told by my local gun doc that it would be safe to run it. I have also gamed it twice before with the 11v for much longer then what it got used for at Rhino and it worked flawlessly.

Do you have a MOSFET in that gun? Can you take a picture of the burnt area and post it. I suspect that the trigger contacts are scorched or if you have a shitty wire patch job then that is not soldered together then you will have burned out wiring their.

You should not run 11.1v without a mosfet / trigger board or at least upgraded electrical (wire, microfuse, switch). A argument can be made that 9.6v large batteries sub-C should be treated the same way as well.

I would say trigger contacts as well, is your 11.1 lipo a 20c or 15c, if its 20c your trigger is fried. You need a mosfet to run 20c.

+1 on fried contacts. If you shoot semi a lot without a mosfet, you will fry your contacts really fast. Open the gearbox and take a look at the contacts, if there is a build of carbon, sand it off and install a mosfet to prevent it from happening again.

No mosfet, 20c discharge and again I was going on the word of my local gun doc who told me it would be safe.

After further inspection of the wires, one of the sketchy connectors broke with minimal effort so I'll definitly have to fix the wiring now anyway.

I havnt been able to find my memory card reader to upload pics from my camera but i'll get to taking apart the gearbox and check it out.

Well, number one rule is to do your research before listening to a local gun doc. Not all docs are REALLY good at what they do.

We just had issues with some Masada's here in my area with motors failing right out of the box. Unfortunately they're pre-upgraded and the owners are looking at buying new motors themselves. You sure your motor is okay? If it's good then just keep an ear out for sound change and temperature increase in the grip. Both Masada's cratered the same way. One was an actual Magpul Masada and the second was just today and it was an A&K/Cybergun Masada.
