KWA Orange Tips
So I tried Google and using the search bar here, but I'd like your guys' opinions on this.
I want to remove the orange tip from my new KWA Beretta M93R purchase from that new hot website everyone's buying from, and I've googled and seen people talk about paint thinner, nail polish remover, or just painting over it. What's your guys' take on this? What have you guys done to remove the painted orange tip from your airsoft guns? |

Well I have a KWA SR 10, and what I did was boiled it in boiling water for about 30 minutes the paint just lifted right off
Dissassemble the whole thing first and just drop in the peace with orange on it, its spray painted on if I remmember right

For my KWA pistols, I sanded, buffed and lightly coated the tip with spray paint. Kwa barrels are plastic and paint thinner and other chemicals are harsh on plastic.

I picked up an ATP from the same site, when it got here I opened the box, gave the orange tip a look of intimidation and said "You're done now you little orange bastard.."
I then picked the gun up out of the box and the orange tip fell right out of the barrel. True story. |

My roommate used a light dab of paint thinner and some steel wool to scrub it off. He got an M93R from the same site

If it's the plastic outer barrel paint over it or replace it with the metal outer you can get.
If it's the muzzle brake you have some more variety in what you can do, such as sanding it off and repainting or using some paint stripper to take it off. And just a question, You test fire it yet? I might have to pick one up as a project gun later. |

Yeah, I've test fired it and it's a fun little gun... Unfortunately, I discovered (after believing it was the full metal version) that it had a plastic frame and outer barrel, which wasn't what I wanted. But oh well. |

The M93R Package with the shoulder stock and extra mag is full metal....so that makes me wonder why this one isn't full metal.

KWA's use plastic barrels. This it to prevent excessive wear of the barrel/slide/internals.

Its actually pretty strong plastic as well. Also you dont get that nasty partially rubbed off paint on the barrel. Still metal barrels are nice

KWA USP Compact, quick wipe with acetone and the orange was gone, with no damage whatsoever to the plastic underneath.

I just sanded the plastic barrel down with a really fine sandpaper. Then I hit it with a shot of black spray paint and it looks good as new.
