Semi-auto issue Matrix M4 AEG

After putting a new spring into my gun I've noticed that when I switch my gun to semi-auto, unless I pull the trigger slow and hard, it will shoot full auto. The selector plate and switch seem to be fine so I'm kind of stumped :/

Any suggestions?

Remove the mechbox from the receiver, and install the pistol grip back on the mechbox so you can run it.
Cycle it in full and semi auto. This will tell you if the problem is in the mechbox or if it's a fitment issue with the receiver.
If the receiver is the issue, you probably just torqued something down in the wrong order.
Is the selector switch stiff at all?

So I've stripped it down to just the pistol grip and the receiver, but I am not entirely sure how to put the selector switch into semi w/o a catch to hold it?
Also the selector switch is not stiff, it moves freely with little resistance.

move it with your finger and hold it in place.
all the way forward is safe, move back just enough that it clears the trigger stop mechanism (that little latch on the bottom left of the mechbox just infront of the selector plate), that's semi. And all the way back is full auto.

Alright! So I tried that and it didn't seem to really help much so I decided to just pop up the gearbox and investigate. After I got everything opened I realized that a screw, the one under the sector gear (with the hurricane shaped nut?) and noticed it was quite loose. After I tightened that up a bit, but not to the point that it was locked down I closed up the box and put it back in the receiver with the pistol grip on...

After I tested a few shots of pulling the trigger hard, it worked, pulled lighter still worked, but minimal pulling effort on semi, it still rattled away on auto... Since I am not going to be pulling the semi super light this is manageable for now, but whenever I need to open the box up again I will probably tighten that screw a bit more and see if it helps.

Thanks for the tips ThunderCactus
