Funny thing, a quite often I've initiated the attack on a base in the past, soften it up for the rest of my team to move in, take out guys trying to get my guys, then leave my rifle where I was and rush in my MP5 and Glock and go close quarters........ what is funny is that there had been a few times it took a couple mins to find my rifle, even though I was within a few feet of it. Got lucky with my paintjob, first time painting camo.
But ya, I'm confident enough with just a Glock 19 in the brush, half a dozen mags loaded with 0.36g BBs, to leave my rifle, chest rig, etc. behind for a bit. Never used a rubber knife though.... |

I've made a several kydex rubber knife sheaths for myself and friends with mixed results. The rubber grips the kydex more than leather or steel, and sometimes makes for a clumsy draw. The benefit is that the knife is retained very well, which solves problem of losing the knife in the field vs actually needing to draw it quickly. I've found a happy medium with my personal knife sheath, but a team mate of mine's needs adjusting as he could practically pull his rig over his head before the knife came loose...
