Stuck AK mag

I need help! The mag for my GHK AKM is stuck in the magwell. Basically I was stupid enough to insert the mag by angling the back in first, then rocking the mag forward to push it in. This is my first time working with a non-straight insert magazine, so I didn't know you are supposed to push in the top front of the mag first then sorta rock it back so the top back goes fully into the mag well last.
Right now the "latch" on the front of the mag that is supposed to lock onto the inner side of the front part of the magwell is actually exposed outside, and I can't push it into the mag well because of the current angle of the whole mag. I can't pull the whole thing out because I think something is stuck with the back part of the mag inside the mag well.
I hope someone with experiences with an AK will know what I am trying to describe...it seems like it would be a common problem no? At least with AK noobs like me

Thanks!

In all honesty, reading the owners manual, or if you didn't get one, searching online for one would have prevented this.

Take the gun apart and see if you can push it out from the top. If it's in there so good that you cant get it out you may have just destroyed your mag and/or receiver.

Sadly the mag release on a GHK AKM is not screw on, it's riveted on so taking this apart is going to be a bit of a bother.

I would remove the bolt and look down into the receiver, try and see what is sticking. If nothing is obvious just use some force to pull the magazine back out, or wail on it with a hammer for a bit. You may ruin the mag, but you won't hurt the gun*.

* Well, you might hurt it**.
** If you do, sell it to me for cheap I need a beater GHK AKM for a conversion project.

Try wiggling it, what actually had happened to me before was that the dowel pin holding the front piece slipped out a bit and was jammed, so I kinda ripped it out. It was on an echo 1 gun though.

What ever you do, be super carefull or you will scratch the shit out of the body and break the mag well. If you do that the body will be ruined.

Judging by how I'm picturing this... your best option would be to cut the magazine out of the gun and buy a new magazine.

Is there a cross pin on the mags metal retaining clip? Punch it out and the mag 'should' slip out.

Best bet would be to post a picture.

Not to be rude, but have any of you ever even seen a GHK AKM? There is no "cross pin" as the entire magazine is pressed steel parts welded together. He's not going to "break" the mag well as the body is 1.5mm steel.

Don't chime in if you have no clue what you are talking about.

Dude, not to be rude but didn't you read me asking if there were cross pins? True, i have never handled one but I have seen them (even googled before I posted to take another look) and it 'appears' some have two pins but the are painted over and there is only a faint outline so I didn't know if it was from manufacturing or not.

I'm only offering suggestions. Never assumed I was correct or that it was even possible. So why don't you STFU and take it down a notch off your high horse.

EDIT:

here's what I looked at before I posted what I did:

those are not pins, they are spot weld marks, pins through there would go right through where the BBs sit.

if the front edge isn't fully seated, then you should be able to just push the mag back and rotate it out the way you put it in.. most likely some edge inside the front of the mag well is holding onto the top of the front lip, just not far enough to seat. i can see that lip on the mag getting scratched when removing it, but that can't be avoided. just use a mallet and knock the bottom front of the mag back, at worst you'll scratch the front lip of the mag
