Echo-1 Platinum edition M4 (VFC)
Hello all,
I recently purchased an Echo1 Platinum edition M4... (the one that's actually a vfc) While trying to remove the barrel/delta ring (yes I have a D-Ring tool) the upper reciever cracked in a small place... SO MY QUESTION IS: (if you want to skip the explanation) What after-market upper recievers are compatible with VFC m4's? Or am I better off trying to get another of the "stock" receivers? Thanks!

Or you can repair with JB weld and repaint it.
Done it to a G&P lower once... Wasn't that noticeable and was pretty solid.

Let me guess, it cracked near the front underneath the dust cover? You need to clamp the whole receiver top and bottom while removing/installing a barrel nut. You'll need to find another VFC upper for it to fit as they are proprietary.

Thanks for the answers guys!
Yeah, I really couldn't believe the force I was applying to the nut... But everything I read online said that VFC is notorious for OVER tightening and using very generous amounts of RED locktight. ): I've emailed Echo1 and i'm just waiting for a response.

Luckily you broke the UPPER receiver and not the lower, since you can import/order that yourself.

Unless anyone knows of an aftermarket one that has better build quality... or less locktight.
