I'm not sure of the additional cost though, but I assume itd be like buying new lenses for a pair of glasses. Everyone I talked too who had them said it was worth the cost.

everyone mentions boots, can I not wear sneakers? i much so much better in running shoes.
You do not want to do this!!!

If you are playing at an inside paintball place then its no biggie, but if you are playing outdoors then you are putting yourself at some serious risk. We don't generally play on soccer fields and some of the terrain is very difficult and challenging. Good boots that will protect your feet and have strong ankle support are a must. Your three most important pieces of gear are in order:

Eye Protection
Boots
Hydration System (even if its just a bottle of water)

Take the steps neccessary to proactively prevent injury to yourself and you will increase your joy of the hobby.

I don't mean to come off as preachy but it needs to be said.

Personnally, I would never allow someone without propper boots into one of my game.

The day you'll break/twist your ankle, 2km from your car, you'll cry

It's as important as eyewear in my opinion.

Eeyore is right, really. I haven't much thought about it that way, as I wore my combats 24/7 long before airsoft anyway for the better support they gave my feet.

@Death2k
I will certainly be looking into it and, likely, putting aside money for it. Fogging is a BIG problem for me, be it goggles, glasses or, most commonly, both. Dealing with it for good would make like so much nicer.
