difference between TM and G&P M4 bodies?

Just as the title states, whats the difference between TM and G&P AEG bodies?
Are the tolerances different? Can a G&P upper fit on a TM lower? are they different sizes like the ICS bodies are longer?

Any information would be great, and if someone has both and could take a picture if there are differences, that would be much appreciated!

Thanks guys.

G&P is pretty much made as aftermarket for TM

Most notable difference is G&P = Metal, TM = plastic.

TM is an old system that works off of body tabs with a two peice hop-up.

the G&P is made for the new system that's held in by the front pin and two smaller pins that fit into channels on the lower receiver. This system is for a 1 piece hop-up.

To summarize what Amos said in short, no a G&P upper will not mate properly with a TM lower due to the way parts connect.

you're going to need a 1 piece hop up instead of the two piece from TM if you're going to use a G&P metal body.

So if I have a G&P Upper, I will need a 1 piece hop-up, and not a TM Lower. Other than that everything else should fit in fine? Pins, bolt, dust cover, gear box, selector level, etc?

Well as it stands you could get away with the two piece hopup since you only have the upper but unfortunately you wont be able to mate the G&P upper and TM lower because of different modes of attachment.

Best option currently would be to source a G&P lower and 1 piece hop up unit.

Let's not forget that the delta ring threading of G&P uppers is NOT the same as the threading on a TM upper....

Hmm isn't the G&P using imperial threading and TM; metric?

If so, it is not the same... Yes you screw the same way, but it's different sizes.

At all depends on what generation body we're talking here...

I haven't had any problems putting new G&P front ends on older Marui style bodies.
