350 fps, 370fps, 390 fps?
Aliright, I'm putting my flame suit on, but I have the Aftermath Kraken AK47, out of the box this thing is hot, pretty close to 400 I'm assuming because they didn't want to let me use it at extreme tactics (I did though, my group was the only one there).
And now I see that operation Endgame also has a restriction of 350fps. Do most games (indoor and outdoor) have that restriction? Should I be buying another gun? (because of speed, not because its a kraken lol) |

Endgame is restricted to 350 or lower to limit the guns on the field to emulate a more realistic post apocolyptic setting. Most games, OPS and Scrims have a 400 FPS limit.
For me I'm bringing my pistol, a crappy m3000 shotgun and a rubber knife!

Remember that "out of the box" FPS is often over-estimated. You're better off getting your gun chronoed.

My kraken shoots about 380ish with .20's...just test it out next time. I don't think many of them are really shooting 400+ out of the box

If the rules say under 350 then you are going to need to buy a new spring they can be had for $14-$20 + what ever a gun doc will charge to install if you can not do it yourself.

330 on .20's (1 Joule) and you should be fine for pretty much every indoor/cqb venue.
As for the Kraken, I've heard the spring settles pretty fast and you'll end up around 370-380 on .20's usually. However your best bet is to get a lower rated spring.

Someone may even trade straight up for it. Downgrade for you, upgrade for them.

Well, I got the gun on the extreme cheap (99 bucks) and I love the AK. I'm considering just buyin another gune (MP5 / M4 or a pistol) that is 350 or less...

you could also buy a drop-in V3 gearbox with a less powerful spring inside which you can simply replace when you need a gun firing 350FPS or less (a gearbox with a M90 or M100 will do the trick - depending on the efficiency of the piston compression) - This way, you can switch between indoor and outdoor setting relatively quickly and easily (replacing a V3 gearbox in an AK takes about 15-20 minutes; while, opening the spring inside the gearbox yourself requires a lot more work and pratice unless you know your way around a mechbox )
You also have to remember that Chrono readings are affected by a lot of factors (temperature for instance). Most field accept a +/- 5-10 margins on readings (in Quebec as far as I am concerned).
