CADPAT, MARPAT or MultiCam in BC

Hey all, I know this debate on "which camo to use" is like beating a dead horse. However, I can't find a succinct debate anywhere about what camo to use for airsoft in and around British Columbia (Vancouver, Langley, Surrey, etc).

The contenders, as far as I can tell, are: CADPAT, woodland MARPAT, or MultiCam or other (ACU, DPU, Flecktarn).

I'm about to invest in a whole set of gear and I want to know what to get.

thanks,
kizz

I lived in Nelson, in that region I'd go with MARPAT probably. Although CADPAT would have been just as effective especially in the summer with all the green. MARPAT tends to work better when the trees are lacking foliage though, while still effective in the green.

This question should be directed in regards to a specific area, and seasons for a more accurate answer. I find that multicam works very well in the okanagan area from spring to fall. While closer to the coast, Cadpat would be called for. Hopefully some of the coast boys from Op-For and JointOps can better answer this than me.

hope this helps

cheers

A few guys wear MulitCam here. In the summer, I think it works alright, but the winter is brutal. I'd say black works better than multicam during the winter. Cadpat works great from what I've seem most of the time. I havn't seen anyone wearing DPM lately so I'm not sure, but I'd say it would work pretty well. Marpat works good too. But also remember, your only as camoflauged as you make yourself. IF your sprinting around, it won't matter what camo your wearing.

So I assume your going to be playing at either Panther or Bigfoot. My opinion is that Cadpat, Marpat and DPM would work about the same. I love the look of multicam, but at least at this time of year, you stick out like a sanddune in the middle of a forest.

It just depends on what you really want and what your wallet can handle. Good CADPAT is gonna be a bit pricey, same with good MC, while you can find some deals on MARPAT these days.

Though if you're near Broadway, check out that Gorilla's Surplus, last time I was there they had good prices on DPM, MARPAT, and a good selection of other patterns.

Hell you could do what some do, grab two patterns and get a CB or OD rig.

are you playing at Panther? Marpat and Flecktarn work best all year round. DPM is close as well. summer months all those work buy throw in Cadpat.
if you have any questions, send me a note. I have been playing this crazy game for a long time and have used pretty much everything cam wise.

Yeah, I guess I will be playing on Panther at first. As I said, I have yet to get in to airsoft, just planing on what I'm going to get for my loadout so that when I am ready to buy I know what to get.

I like that idea of getting two sets of BDU's in MARPAT and Multicam, one for summer and one for winter. But then arrises the decision of what colour chest rig to get. I really like the look of the Phantom RAV rigs or the Pantac MOLLE vests. I would assume then, to go with OD vest with CADPAT/MARPAT BDU's and CB with MultiCam or ACU.

I realize everyone is saying NO to MultiCam.... But it does look really cool. But I know, I know, function before form.

I find, especially at panther... MC sticks out like a sore thumb. Its the first thing i see, honestly. You may look cool, but your going to be in the re spawn area 50% of the time :P

Cadpat is really nice, also Partizan....mmmmm Partizan

Okay... So, I'm pretty set on MARPAT.
I especially dig it cause I love the USMC.

What are your thoughts on CB vs. OD over MARPAT for Panther field. Depends on the time of year?

Typical cadpat fanboy... mc actually works pretty well in a lot of areas in panther. Yes obviously cadpat works better if your standing in a green bush, but nearly everything in panther in a dead dull brown color..
