Importing MP5 lower receiver.
I got this question ringing in my head, since the law doesn't allow import of the part where the real steel has the serial number on, and the MP5 has it's serial number on the upper, does that mean the Lower receiver is able to be imported? or not?

You can import a lower receiver for an MP5. However, something like that is hit or miss with the CBSA. Some agents that know the rules will let it through without issue, while others may seize it. It's one of these items that are risky, although quite legal.

But doesn't that apply only to real steel and not replica firearms?

CBSA
the knowledge of the individual agent and their experience will be factors in what gets seized..
They will always err on the side of prudence.. regardless of the legality of inport .. if the agent making the call is not sure.. it will be seized.. it may be subsequently reviewed and released ... Recent experience indicates that one can even go armed with the specific regulations in hand and required documentation that would indicate by their own regulations an item should be allowed... and the item is denied entry on the judgment of the agent. The rules are not rules they are guidelines .. the individual agent is empowered to make judgment calls.. this is why the events at import are so un- even and why some things will get through sometimes and not others.

Okay thanks, so bottom line, it's legal to import but don't know if I'll get it or not, thanks.

The restricted part of the reciever is the part with the serial number. On the MP5, that's the upper, not the lower. So like Crunch said.
