CyberGun AK-47
I'm changing my mind about the MP40 and moving onto an AK-47/AK-47u it's a Cybergun Brand AEG airsoft gun that shoots 490FPS with real wood foregrip and a folding stock for $275 on sale Regular $300 all metal parts holds 450 BB's. is it worth it? And is there anything i should know about it before i buy it? (i forget if it's an AK-47u or AK-74u)

I belive cybergun re-brands, usually the crappiest of guns. Sounds like it might be a CYMA. Have a link to the gun?

Where are you looking to purchase the gun from? Remember that you can't import airsoft guns into Canada, so I suggest if you're over 18 you get yourself age verified for more options.

theguy i have to respectfully disagree cybergun is a brand i trust, i have a friend with a full metal and wood Thompson that is made to perfection, but I'm not 100% sure if the AK-47u/74u is a cybergun and unfortunately i don't have a link to it, and yes they can be imported or apparently Ron's Army Navy In Halifax can. But no I'm not getting age verified because I'm in the same boat as theguy, still underage and will be for another 4 years.

Well maybe its part of your lack of experience with airsoft and AEGs but Cyberguns are the lowest of the low. Just absolute crap. I cant think of a single brand thats worse than Cybergun (save for those drop in the bucket pieces of shit you find in CT, that dont even classify as airsoft).
So in regards to the OP, avoid Cybergun at all costs. |

First off all, Sorry to say it, but cybergun is generally considered crap.
Secondly, No one here is going to encourage a 14 year old to get any sort of airsoft. If your 16+(Like me) some fields will let you play with a waiver signed by your legal gaurdian. Also, I doubt that you will be able to get a gun into canada through that source, i may be wrong, but i doubt it.

i don't play on a field and i don't even know of a airsoft field around here and you really haven't been to Atlantic Canada before have you? Rules on firearms, paintball markers and airsoft guns are really non-existent and sure Cybergun isn't the best but there is worse out there, Crossman Being one of them off the top of my head, and again it's possibly not even cybergun, in-fact i think it's an ECHO 1 or Classic Army because it's not in there catalog for Cybergun. Yes I'm 100% sure they get across the boarder they just get held up for a bit as the most they say 4-6weeks of being held up ever.

If you think you have all the information, why ask us? We're not going to argue with a 14 year old who thinks he knows better than us, it's not really worth our time.

I'm not here to waste your time i just wanted to know if there is another way to measure the quality of an AEG besides FPS, Mag Cap, and if the body is metal. Sorry if i wasted you time, and if you feel that I'm not worth your time then don't reply on my treads if your not interested in helping.

In addition, if your plan is to bring the opaque airsoft gun in question in from the US, you've obviously not read the Newbie Tank rules about how improper importation is not a permissible topic here.

then maybe i should learn towards the G&G C.A.S. Version AK47 REC WC on 007 airsoft for 340+GST but it doesn't give the FPS

Why be so concerned about FPS? You should be more concerned whether if the gun shoots or not. G&G has proven to be pretty good in my eyes. So go ahead and grab one of those if you like. Just never try and determine a guns quality through FPS. Most TM's fire only 280 fps, yet are considored to be some of the best AEG's a person can buy. Too bad there isnt a TM Clearsoft line.

We can neither condone or support a 14 year old buying airsoft guns.
We can't stop you from researching by reading, but we're not going to provide implied support by telling you which gun to buy. If you're really serious about this, we recommend you talk to your parents about airsoft. If they want to get into the hobby, you might be able to tag along. Until then.
