I've got a nice big scar on the inside of my leg, to close to my "hurt spot" for a picture though... I'm so glad it was that inch lower

(On a side note, I'm still very curious how your father got your airsoft guns into Canada without going through a Canadian customs agent.)

Hey ibby
this was a project to see if i could do it. I've yet to spend the money on the infared gear. (about 500$) I have a binocular eye mount display at the moment. and am planning on getting a single see-through eye mount screen if i decide to blow more money on this. (kind of like Ghost Recon Advanced warfighter game) Was more for halloween than anything, and figured it be fun to play with, especially in paintball. (my brother got knocked out by a PB once hehe, and it was a night game, so thats where this idea sprung up). Was planning to mount all the lithium batterys, radio, and even a hydration pack in the backpack portion of the armour. (lots of hollow room in there) all with just 2 tubes leading to the helmet over the back of my neck. As for turning stuff on and off. I was thinking the IR/night camera could be activated automatically with a photo sensor. that way, say i come into a bright building from outside, it will automatically turn off. the visible lights will just have a small rubber button on the side of the helmet. where they are mounted. just dreaming at this point lol. My dad is a marine radar bridge tech, so he can help me out with the electonic side of things As for the customs, PM'd talk to ya later Corey Last edited by Corey Darling; December 24th, 2006 at 20:30.. |

We already went through that one at the CIA forums lol, best not to ask. No names no pack drill. On a side note that is a pretty cool get up. Halloween costum? And why bother mounting lights on your gear, that's like painting yourself up as a target at night. I'd use NVG's, and even those are some what over rated. If your in a static position they're great, but if your moving around you have no depth perception and you'd be surprised on how many old logs and shrubs you'll fall over. I had to use that stuff on my PLQ, and my Det 2 I/C's course and I'll say again, good for sentry, sucks for patrols or a lot of moving, takes a while to get used to them.

As an aside, do you know what "no names no pack drill" means? If you seriously think this way, you've obviously never used NVG gear properly.

I seriously think that way, and I already asked corey that question and he answered it on the CIA forums, then it was deleted, he didn't think that the thread should have stayed up..
Yes NVG's are goochee kit, but they also have their limitations, and for static positions I think they're great, maching not so good. I guess it depends on what your preferences are though. Not here to start arguements on kit, but that is the extent of my experience with them and just passing it on. And yes No names no packdrill I do know what it means, I've seen pack drill it's not fun, and it's just a figure of speech, have a good christmas Ibby Last edited by Rukus; December 25th, 2006 at 04:33.. |
