"VFC" Scar L troubleshoot - ideas?

The face of the bucking is chewed. It is being pressed into the feed area too much.

Yes I am new to Airsoft. No I am not new to mechanical tinkering, and especially not forum marketplace environments. If I can strip a technologically advanced car and put it together. I can do a gun with a few parts (eg, first thing I did was replace internals on my first gun's V3, pinion shim, and aluminum hop chamber, flat hopped it, works great).

I personally thought Hughes was super friendly. These are issues that shooting in a room vs shooting in a field would provide different results.

I posted this thread to expedite tips and troubleshooting while I did analyzed the gun to determine issues. I wanted feedback from the experts as the owner is too busy to respond. Glad to hear a new bucking would help, that's what I thought. Hopefully the nub will help as well.

Theres a good video on youtube of a tech explaining the hop up arm on the vfc scar units is completely off resulting in uneven hop and jams.

ain't nothing wrong with a plastic hopup.

Plenty of metal ones out there are badly made.

The bottom line on hops is that if it seals properly (or can be made to seal), holds the barrel in the right orientation, holds setting fine and hopup arm is not malformed, it will work as good as any other unit out there.

The VFC scar is one of those platforms that very few techs are proficient with. I've seen too many improper hop up/barrel installations, stripped selector plates... The thing that pains me the most is seeing how many people drill holes through their stocks to install a shitty gate MOSFET...

In my experience guarder rubbers are tight in the vfc scar hop up. After running different brands of rubbers I've reverted back to the stock one on mine. It fits the best.

Well if its your word against his, its a draw lol
If youre above 350fps I recommend against the 50 degree rubber unless you're flat hopping it. Theyre tear apart quickly at high fps normally.

Lol the intention of this post isn't to get money back or challenge someone's rep. It's to fix/improve the gun. (I do however have all the PM's, texts, and many witnesses for the day of purchase and game times.) I understand the guntech's need to protect rep, it's no different than my years on the car/computer scene. Like I said, seems like a good guy!
Anyway, I don't think this is a lost cause?? I just want ideas to fix things up! I'm not one to give up and sell. I fix and mod almost everything I own bc it's fun.
So:

It's sitting at 410 fps. But I will try to improve the Flat-hop. Stick with 50*? Or do I need to go at least 60? One guy just said the stock was best for him. My friend appears to be finding the same thing.

I also have a madbull 363 TBB that is maybe an inch short of the stock (and the outer barrel). Will this play a significant role on spread? (My reading says no)

Just a thought. It could be the Madbull barrel if the teflon coating inside has worn out and is starting to flake off. And no the barrel being short won't affect anything unless there's something wrong with the flash hider or whatever like it isn't perfectly straight screwing up the trajectory (ie. if a BB bounces around the inside of a suppressor).

Try a stock VFC rubber.

Take a look inside the barrel and see if it's scratched. Madbulls are the worst for wearing fast due to being made out of aluminum.
With flat hops, softer is better. The pressure is lower and contact area much wider so the wear is significantly reduced.

I will look into each of these. I did inspect the barrel prior to installation, and with the light slowly moving up and down the barrel didn't notice any irregularities. Of course I may not have been able to see them?
I'll have to order the original rubber, as this one just came with the hard one.
