I identify as a SuperStraight Gunsexual, I fall into the SuperStraight category of the LGBTQ+ movement except I am also sexually aroused/attracted to firearms.

I am especially attracted to my airsoft shotgun, I love it because I can pump it as hard as I want and as often as I want, I feel liberated to come out as a gunsexual because now I don't feel ashamed to pump it in front of other people or feel inclined to follow my other gunsexual inclinations and shoot other airsoft guns.
I am also fully gunsexual as I don't discriminate and will shoot airsoft and real steel, both sides of my gunsexual awaking and coming out are represented.
As a member of the ASIC CCFR SSG LGBTQ+ community I am saddened that bill C-21 contains hate speech targeting the institutionally repressed gunsextual community. In contravention of section 15 of The Charter guaranteeing equality before and under law and equal protection and benefit of law, and in violation of the provincial human rights code which protects against discrimination based on LGBTQ+ orientation.
I am glad that the ASIC CCFR SSG LGBTQ+ communities are so open and welcoming to the diversity in our country that they accept me for my gunsexuality, yet I am saddened that this liberal government has tabled legislation with so couched in hate speech so blatantly targeting an already persecuted minority of the LGBTQ+ community in the form of C-21.
Please explain why such a forward looking progressive government is so BIGOTED towards LGBTQ+.

Yours truly,

This was rather hastily done, and could possibly require some tweaking/improvement, there are definitely more buzzwords that can be tossed into the salad.

Ya, the gallows humor will get you through.

I guess you could add in something about how transphobig the Liberals are. as a gunsexual when you are transitioning from airsoft to real steel and back, or transitioning from primary to secondary... the most oppressed group.

and the gunsexual flag, clearly a blaze orange banner with a white circle in the center. Blaze orange to signify they safety in all the gunsexual activities... hunting clothing, splatter of paint from a paintball, the high vis on range targets and the circle is for the airsoft BB or the hole for the target for an air gun or real steel. Perfect, got them dead to rights at their own game.

Fuck, right? If the whole community sounded like that I'd beg for the sport to be banned.

What are the registered non profits in canada that are directly involved with paintball and Airsoft?

Not fb associations or people who say they are associating themselves together, I'm talking actually registered organisations?

We have "le registraire des entreprises du Quebec" here that lists them.

What are your equivalents in your provinces?

Do you know how many registered members they have?

If you know them, are they already in contact with ASIC?

If not, why not?

FSAQ is the only one that is already registered

ASIC is in the process, so is another group in BC. So far ASIC is the only national level group working toward incorporation.

As a former homeless addict eg the exact kind of person who would perform a petty crime like using a fake gun to rob somewhere im of the opinion that the number is or is almost 0.

First up being around criminals and stuff most really wouldnt want to get into a situation where someone thinks you have a gun but you cant actually hurt someone or even fire off a convincing shot into the air.

That out of the way if im someone who is so hard up for cash or drugs that I am going to rob someone with a fake gun its safe to say I dont have a lot of money or access to a real firearm.

Now odds are im not going to rob someone who I think might fignt back or be armed themself so that limits me to a store or maybe mugging a person on their own.

Now if im the kind of scumbag that is seriously going to commit a petty crime like this its almost certain I am not going to have time or money to invest into this, so I decide to get my fake gun, am I going to:

A) Buy a 300 to 1000 dollar airsoft gun from a small retailer who will most likely have the same staff working every day and probably remember and recognize the gun sold and either remember or have records of who they sold it to. Or buy it off a private seller who is then going to have a record of either my email and or phone number or an address tied to be.

Or would I

B) go to a major retailer like Canadian tire and buy a mass produced pellet or bb gun made out of metal and looking just as if not more believable to the average joe on the street for like 80 dollars from a busy store that wont remember me and so many of them are made and sold that trying to track me through the weapon used is pointless that this law wont regulate because they arent based on any one specific real gun.

Or

C) Go to any army surplus store and buy a blank firing revolver or automatic pistol for 100 to 300 dollars that is pretty much indistinguishable from a real firearm to most people and that I can fire into the air or at them with the volume and ejecting casings of a real gun if they doubt me. These also wont be regulated by the law and are currently unregulated apart from having to be 18.

Or

D) use whatever stolen or found thing someone has around that I can get for cheap on the street that will most likely be B or maybe C.

I used to be in a pretty bad place. Hanging around the worst of the worst.daily and never heard of or seen anyone trying to use an airsoft gun as real in a crime. Hell most people in that lifestyle dont even know what airsoft is and why would they when if they wanted a fake.gun they can just walk into a major hardware store theyre not going to get on google looking for specialty airgun retailers.

Jack Harris has signalled that he will not support and airsoft ban, as has Ryan Canning.

That's all dependent on 3 factors:

1. If the Liberals make the vote for c-21 a confidence motion (with Mr. Blackface I wouldn't put it past them to use it to force an election) then the NDP will have to join in if they want to keep their status in the current gov't
2. The NDP party (as in Jagmeet) whips the NDP caucus to vote against the scary pieces of inanimate metal and plastic furniture
3. Those two both don't care (or are not going for re-election) and vote as their constituents want and risk being tossed from the NDP brand

The Liberals are using the NDP to pretend that they have a majority to slam through alot of the nonsense we've seen in the committee meetings and other motions. Jagmeet is a useful idiot for them and will play along because he know he has no other chance for power anywhere else.

I'm wanting to be an optimist about this but I remember the garbage with C-68 and the original gun registry and the BS that resulted

I sent a letter to all 6 NDP PM's in Ontario (even outside my riding) and got the following reply from Lindsay Mathyssen, of London-Fanshawe

""Dear Jeff,

Thank you for sharing your concerns with me on this issue.

New Democrats support the goal of removing military-style assault weapons from the streets as one of a number of measures that are needed to reduce gun-related violence in Canada, including allowing municipalities to ban handguns within their jurisdictions.

However, New Democrats are concerned that Bill C-21 will prohibit the use of film props and airsoft guns. There are legitimate uses for realistic-looking guns in the film and sporting industries and it is unclear how banning airsoft and replica firearms would make Canadians safer.

The government should be focused on reducing gun smuggling from the United States and devoting further resources to law enforcement agencies such as Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and the RCMP. New Democrats believe that investing more resources at the border would go a long way to addressing the introduction of illegally smuggled arms from the United States – arms that later circulate in Canadian communities. Regrettably, successive Conservative and Liberal governments have consistently cut funding and CBSA positions.

In the past, we have seen the Liberals put forward symbolic measures and play politics on a safety issue, instead of introducing measures that would really make a difference.

When C-21 reaches the House of Commons’ Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security, New Democrats will work to ensure that this bill does what it is intended to do – to make Canadians safer, while ensuring appropriate accommodations are made for the film and sporting industries for the responsible use of airsoft and replica weapons.

Sincerely,

Lindsay Mathyssen, MP
London-Fanshawe""
