Looking good. How does the Cyma stock feel? Any up and down or side to side movement? More than a TM?

To be honest - the stock has ALOT of up and down movement. Will try to fix it when installing onto metal body.

But it looks very nice.

Oh and you were curious about fitting issues on the Element body onto a Cyma - The battery tray wouldn't go on all the way forward, had to sand the nubs a bit on both the tray and the body, but not a big deal. Also - it was missing the two indents for the left and right front of the pistol grip - once again - no biggie, a couple mins with a small file and it's good to go. Otherwise seems to be just fine. Sure beats a plastic AK-47 body.

Cheers,
Alex

Get out of my thread Ronan. And FYI, the accuracy part of the video was complete and utter BS, 100%.

But get out. I don't want this to become a discussion on this.

hate to destroy your thread but, that video only talks about accuracy from a distance and the fact that an ak should be considered a machine gun not a rifle. But in no way is the M4 sweeter then that power!! power is sexy don't forget!

As for the ak's...
Wow man, wow... those are some seriously nice looking guns, looks like you tore it straight from a soldiers hands :P excellent work, some of the best I have seen!

Alex, man... fuck. Any more AK, and you'll have enough to outfit a small army of insurgents.

Think I should give mine some blue... maybe? hmmm...

Oh, and regarding accuracy.. Have any of you guys seen how accurate the modern AKs are? Probably not, otherwise you'd know better, and not say something wankerly.

Hah, there shall be more AK goodness to come.

Perhaps bluing yours is a good idea. Your receiver is steel, so is the safety lever and top cover... and the ICS bolt as you can see can take bluing not too bad. Up to you.

As for AK accuracy - decent Russian AK-47s were known to achieve as good as 2MOA from what I read a while ago.

Very nice, you outta wear down the edges a bit to match the wear on the barrel. The receiver looks odd due to it lacking the machine marks above the magwell. I like how you blurred out some parts on the AK so some people won't know it's a paintball gun :P

But yes - the plastiwood looks craptastic, you need a wood kit right now. Right. Now.

Otherwise - good work, thanks for sharing the results.

EDIT: Don't ever call my AKM an AK-74 again.

Hmmm, can you show more pictures of the ICS bolt mounted onto the gun? I found them for sale at blazing toys, but from what I could tell from the tiny picture they have, it doesn't seem to replace the whole tray as it does in your picture, did you put something else under it? It wasn't clear from your pic either.

Hey mate, I posted a link in this thread showing the instructions for installing the bolt. The bolt doesn't require a tray. The body requires the little tabs removed, and the bolt rides right on the body, like on an ICS AK.

Anyways,

Update on the pistol

The Beta spetsnaz front sight has arrived, barrel has been chopped again, from both ends this time, redrilled 2 holes, and modified part of the new sight to bind properly with the lower handguard retainer.

This thing nicely light (but not toyish light of course), and can easily be handled with one hand by me. I shall be modifying the body to accept that Cyma AKS stock with the help of my father's handyman skills, and endless little tools :P

The pics are crap, I know. I took them in very horrible lighting. They simply don't do any justice to this AK at all. Better pics when it's with the stock attached. AKM style safety on the way. Borrowed my AKM muzzle brake for now.

Cheers,
Alex

Alright, I must've missed it, by the way, what do you plan on doing with the wire sticking out? I don't think you can rewire to use a stick battery with the ICS bolt

ICS bolt is in the AKM. This one uses an original TM bolt, except polished and blued.

I might get another ICS bolt for this AK if I get an Escort gas mechbox for it just like I plan to do for the AKM. Till then, it'll stay as is. I shall be rewiring to the front once I get my battery in the mail.
