I figured I will just leave the receiver as is. Just got myself paint. Might paint my parts again tomorrow. |

Just an idea. Of course, you could always paint the rest of the gun and leave the pistol grip and selector black as well.

Yeah figured that Satin was a finish. So these crappy tires and wal marts don't have krylon camo paint. Went ahead and saw this nice dark tan colour. It's being dried at the moment. If it's shiny again, grrr.. might have to sand a pit to get rid of that shine. Juts being patient at the moment for the parts to dry.

if your getting paint, make sure to look for "matte" or "ultra matte" paints. also if you cant find matte paint, then get matte clear coat, it will get rid of a bit of the shine as well as protect the paint.

... Why don't people ever paint the bodies? Seriously...
Can't say I like it.. Edit: Oh god.. It looks even worse with the "weathering" Seriously.. You weather raised areas... NOT the recessed ones... Moar research, Less Airsoft. Less things on a whim. Last edited by Amos; January 13th, 2008 at 19:28.. |

WTF, it's been an hour and I'm finished. I was waiting for it to dry, and bam, I see drops of water, ran away and took the parts in, then started to freakin' snow! Wow, well it dried. No damages or problems. Dried right before it rained. But here are the pics!
Major difference in colour. |

The G36C is used mainly by LE so painting the gun to me seems pointless and looks wrong. Not even the GSG9 use the C and seem to prefer the K. Thats goes with the KSK as well from all the photos Ive seen. Even if the KSK did paint their guns for over in Afghanistan they would put a bit more effort into it.
Posted this a while back but I think this is what you should be shooting for. Anyway my 2 cents. Cheers.

Paint the friggen body.. 2tone doesn't work with G36's.. It only works with AR's because you can actually get all the furniture in different colors (due to the metal / polymer mix of body and furniture). G36's just look.. stupid when they're pointed like that.. Trades aren't important.

Thanks Wilson, easy on the lotion.
Thing I forgot to paint, was the damn Aimpoint! How should I paint it? The clamp and mount? Or just the aimpoint itself including covers except the mounts? |

would look better if you painted the receiver too. maybe leave the trigger group as is, but really, paint the receiver.
you should get a rubber thing to put on it. (aimpoint)

dude, you've already ruined the gun, don't ruin a sexy red dot sight like an aimpoint! (besides, what if you ever want to swap the aimpoint to another gun that's not painted OD?)

I figured that out with the Aimpoint. As Sergeantmajor said, I was just going to look for rubber covers for the Aimpoint.
